speed or no speed pac will not be able to take cotto punches.jmm was able to stun him and shake him up a little bit. pacs ****ty defense will be his down fall.Comment

Cotto has KO all the southpaw's he has faced and his timing kills speed
I could go on and on but in the end cpacquiao only advantage is his speed and don't come here with that crap that Pacquiao has better defence the man faced Zombi De La Hoya, Crappy Hatton and Bum Diaz in his last 3 fights, off course he will look like a million bucks. Watch how many times Marquez hit that ass and come back to me.Comment

Don't go there..because anybodies resume can be dissected bro..Comment

Pacquiao also fought the weakest champ in the 135lb division in David Diaz..takes credit for a draw and fight many and maybe even he felt he lost against Marquez (2nd fight)..couldn't KO an old tired Barrera "because he didn't want to embarrass him"..an old dehydrated Morales..and an old dehydrated De La Hoya..

Take Pacquiao speed away and all of what you say becomes meaningless!!!
1.Cotto have KO every southpaw he have faced.
2.Cotto has never gassed against a smaller fighter.
3.Mannys head movement is better, Cottos footwork is slower but better than Pacquiao(he is most of the time off balance),Cottos combinations are better, more acccurate shots and better placed Manny swings wildly a lot of times his spees makes up for it most of the time, Manny give angle is more that when he is off balance he still thwows, but he certainly can punch from angles.
Cotto is a better all around boxer than Pacquiao!!!!
2. True but if he chases pac and could not hit him. It will still take a toll on his stamina... something that pac may very well do.
3.
Head Movement -- agree
Footwork -- disagree. Pac ,off balance, is seen only at the tail end of a combination. This is rarely seen in his last 3 fights because he is fighting smart. In and out against the bigger guys. To be able to do this effectively... means you have superb footwork. Cotto is well balanced himself but i would like to see him try pac's style and see if he can emulate it.
Combination -- Partially agree. If you are following the conventional combination, you are right. But I prefer those off-rhythm, off-angles, high speed, 3-15 unorthodox combination over conventional ones. IMO, it's the reason that opponents have trouble figuring pac out.
Speed -- Head-movement, footwork, unorthodox combinations are made possible by pac's speed.
If Cotto can slow pac down, he will regain the advantage on all 3. Which means I agree on your initial statement.
IMO, those off-angles shot does not necessarily mean he is off-balance. If it is really off-balance, there should be no power on it. Fact is... he often tagged(Diaz)/stunned(hatton)/KD(Morales) opponents by off-angles shot.Comment

Pacquiao faced a bum 135 champion in Diaz, a Jr MW that came in at 145 and weigh in less at fight night than Pacquiao did in De La Hoya and an overrated Hatton who had problems with guys like Collazo and got KO by guy that doesn't have much power in Mayweather.Last edited by Animalistic 5.0; 10-02-2009, 10:33 PM.Comment
