If it happens obviously it plays out in Cotto's favor. It then becomes a test of will for Pacquiao. He'd have no choice but to out"tough" Cotto and rely on his handspeed, taking 1 or 2 to give 4 or 5 and see who outlasts the other.

You can't rule out the fact that Manny's been through these battles before. I know it was at a lower weight, but it's a mentality thing. the Morales fights were brutal. The Marquez fights were tough. He gets hit and fires back.
Yeah that's cool and all but what happens when he gets hit too hard.

What happens when anyone gets hit too hard??? To offset Pacquiao's speed doesnt equate to being hit flush. and vice versa. Cotto could completely fail to neutralize Pacquiao's speed all fight and lose every second of every round and the only punch he lands all night is the perfectly timed, right on the sweet spot, and it's all she wrote.

He might get rocked, he might not. I just know he'll come back immediately with a barrage of punches. I don't see Cotto as that type of puncher anyway. Sure he can hurt you if he lands a good clean left hook, but more than likely he's going to break you down. He's a doubles and triples hitter.

What team would you bet on. the one that hits an occasional Home Run or the one that hits a lot of Triples and doubles.

Outside from the Hatton KO Pac is no Tyson ( a home run team)

ruiz needed to punch w/ rjj... he was never gonna match rjj's speed.

                same thing w/ cotto.

                  Exactly.

See people are relying too much on Cotto's perceived one punch power. He's not going to rock Pac with every clean punch he lands. He's not that type of fighter.

A combo from Pac with more than 3 or 4 punches landed will hurt Cotto. Cotto is for sure the bigger guy but he can be rocked as well as Pac.

Well Cotto may be a doubles and triples hitter, but he's facing a guy with a good E.R.A. if you get my drift.
