Well yes he would have to fight over here and he would gain loads of fans, We would sell out most places especially london venues but he cannot put it on PPV until he has fought at least 3 times but Mayweather isnt getting younger anymore, He wouldnt have enough time to start building a fanbase over here IMO.
Should FLOYD MAYWEATHER take a stay busy fight in the UK in Jan or Dec?

You never know....but what better why to build up his uk following than by fighting there?. and if he was ever going to make a fight in the UK, a stay busy fight would be the perfect way to get his feet wet in the UK...Floyd would put on a show and he would build a more intimate relationship with his UK fans..
It does not need to be a MEGA MATCH.....
he could have Alot of british fighters on the undercard,,,
Just to make it better...
Any fight now for Floyd has to be a mega fight, he's not gonna be fighting for peanuts.
Show me a British fighter who Joe public will pay to see and it will be worth Floyd coming to Britain.
I talk about Floyd to non fight fans and they know who he is after I say he is the guy who KO'd Hatton but that is as far as their knowledge goes.
Floyd should stick to U.S. soil for his last fights until he retires.Last edited by Breakbeat; 10-02-2009, 08:37 PM.Comment

they would support mayweather if he put in the effort...
step 1... Fight thereComment

honestly, I don't think so.
Because people are ready to pounce on and criticize any percieved flaw in Floyd. Media, fans, HBO announcers, you name it. Even If he does fairly good but less than stellar numbers, and even if he tries to pass it off as a "keep busy" fight, his critics will say his drawing power is fading.
Its almost like... a very popular rapper putting out an album that goes platinum..then putting out a second album that only goes gold, hoping for their third album to be their biggest success ever. Regardless of whether that artist says he was just trying to "stay in the studio" or "keep writing", judgment is passed on his career, and it could even effect how many units of the third album he moves...
Or they might just repeat their mantra of him not fighting the best WW's...Last edited by Syf; 10-02-2009, 08:39 PM.Comment

It simply does not make sense to come over here to fight, there is no one British big enough to fight right now.Comment

And maybe even IF he could get fighters like Matthew Macklin, Tyson fury,John Murry ( I said maybe)
on his british undercard, if he promise them he would put them on one of his MEGAFIGHT undercard in America....
I think he would build a very big fan based in the UK...Comment
