I personally don't think it's a good idea...I mean it sounds nice...but today and now, Floyd mayweather jr is the biggest name in boxing...looking at it from a marketing aspect...you don't want to cheapen the name...jay z doesn't do shows in Minot, North Dakota in order to attract that fan base...Rolex won't sell cheaper watches in walmart so that everyone can be familiar with their brand...Floyd is past that...unless he does something outside of boxing like commercials in the UK...doing cheap filler matches will lessen the wow feeling when the mega matches come around...don't know about how you all feel...but a mayweather/------- match is going to be a big event from here on out...mind as shall max profits out for every outing...

      3. Boxing in the 70s and 80s and Boxing today are night and day. No promoter is going to risk so much money having fight over seas without the aid of the big casinos in Vegas for Floyd to fight some bum. Fighters don't fight 5-6 times a year. When was the last time you seen Floyd fight more than twice a year?
      1. HBO needs Floyd, More then Floyd needs HBO
[ Ask Mark Taffet, Ask Ross Greenberg]
Showtime,NBC,CBS,ABC,ESPN,etc would love to show a Floyd Mayweather fight.

      2. like I said before Juilo Ceasar Chavez use to take stay busy fights all the time he used to fight every month fighting fighters with only 3 career pro fights when he has already fought 60+ fights...
No matter what Floyd will get hated on....No matter what. He will never get the benefit of the doubt.

3.The reason I keep bringing up the past is because going back to the way they used to do it in the past has proven to work...

      My example:
MOVIE THEATERS. which by all accounts prove to be a huge success.

That tells me that promoters like Goldenboy, and Mayweather are looking to the past for their Future success....WHICH is a good thing.

Floyd doing Stay busy fights in Other countries would be good for boxing.
Just like the Lakers playing Pre season games in Europe,Asia, and South America would be good for the NBA.

        Once again.
I say if he did 2 maybe 3 stay busy fights in the UK with Popular UK fighters on the Undercard

And maybe even IF he could get fighters like Matthew Macklin, Tyson fury,John Murry ( I said maybe)
on his british undercard, if he promise them he would put them on one of his MEGAFIGHT undercard in America....

I think he would build a very big fan based in the UK...

which overall would be to his and boxing benefit.

Thats why I said he could do the fight in the UK..Build up his base more over there and after that fight HE CAN put his fight with Pacquaio or Cotto on P.P.V in the UK RATHER THAN JUST HAVE IT ON SKY SPORTS...
if Amir Khan fights are on P.P.V in the UK.. Floyd Mayweather should make it his mission to get his fights on P.P.V in the UK....
But these are all your little pipe dreams man. None of this is going to happen. Floyd doesn't fight unless it's AN EVENT and there's BIG MONEY. Him fighting a bum is not an event nor will it make money because people want him in competitive fights.

Be happy he's going to fight Shane Mosley and or Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto. That's all fans want to see and that's what they're going to get...because HBO says so, and don't get it twisted...Floyd is very happy at HBO, he's going no where.

You and others and have good points. but once again Fighters in the past used to do this all the time... The UFC DOES IT NOW......
and that is always Feed the Fans....Big matches and Small Ones and do it all across the map....

listen the more Floyd fights the better boxing is...
especially if he starts fighting in other countries...
like Ali, and tyson used to do.

Tyson lost to Buster Douglas in Japan not America on Network TV... Buster Douglas was a 40-1 underdog I believe....

Tyson fought Tony Tubbs in A STAY BUSY FIGHT in Japan on Network TV....

            The point is Once Again.

Boxing hasn't been covered on network TV for many years, but they're automatically going to put a card together just because Floyd's name is on it with no regard to his opponent? That's not good for Boxing. Whether you think so or not, casual fans actually watch other fighters besides Floyd Mayweather. The sport is called BOXING, not FLOYD MAYWEATHER.

And again, this isn't 1988 anymore. Boxing's outlets for being televised rely only on ESPN, Showtime, and HBO. Both Showtime nor ESPN would have the money Floyd would want to put a card together.

Why do you assume all the networks are going to just switch their budgets upside down to cover a Floyd Mayweather fight let alone him not even fighting another top name? You make no sense bro (which means you're probably trolling again).

and you dont Know what Floyd would ask for to get his fight broadcast on Network tv. But I am pretty sure he would love the Oppurtunity to do it.

If Kimbo Slice could get a primetime fight fighting a Nobody on Network tv (CBS!!!)
This Tells Me Floyd Mayweather can do the same on Network TV.
                  Fighting a Nobody

Who is a biggest Star Floyd Mayweather or Kimbo Slice.

No, CBS saw how popular MMA has become and know that MMA right now is overall on a higher bracket on the popularity level among the demographic they're gearing towards. They're airing yet another MMA match on Nov 7th with the #1 MMA fighter in the world (Fedor Emilienenko) against the #1 Strikeforce Heavyweight contender, not some bum.

Plus, Kimbo got paid $500,000 to fight on CBS. You "really" think Floyd would take less than $10 Million??? LOL c'mon man...do you even remember WHY Boxing left network TV? When did you start watching Boxing?
