Crawford looks like he's leaning towards moving up as well. He said 147 was kind of hard to make on his end too. So, I'm definitely looking forward to a rematch at 154. I think this would favor Spence just because he's outgrown the 147 lb division. He's always had a bigger frame and now at 33 it looks like his body is demanding more weight. I think this will make the fight more competitive. I'm just torn on whether or not I want to see it next.Comment

There is a reason why other boxers are not as hard on Spence as boxing observers. The reason is that other boxers know the impact that cutting weight has on a fighter. Every fighter from Mosley, Porter, Jones Jr., Wilder, etc keeps going back to how Spence getting down to 147 lbs really impacted his performance in the fight against Bud Crawford. We are not boxers and do not go through the daily grinds and lifestyle that boxers go through. While I think that Spence got beaten up and outboxed on Saturday, he didn't seem like himself that day. His body has outgrown the 147 lb weight limit. He would do better fighting Bud at 154 lbs. Do I think he would win against Bud at 154 lbs, I don't know. But I think he deserves a chance to find out. Fellow boxers are not as hard on Spence as the general public. We all should take a wait and see approach with Spence Jr in his rematch with Bud and give him the benefit of the doubt for the champion that he is.Comment

I think Porter is too nice, doesn’t wanna criticise other fighters. But I do think Spence could definitely do better at 154. People are talking about if Spence can add to his toolbox between now and a rematch. He can’t “add”, but not having to cut so much weight will make the tools he already possesses sharper, and that could conceivably make Crawford’s job more difficult.
If I were Bud, I’d make the rematch at 47. Don’t give Spence an inch. Then I’d like him to stay there and fight Boots after, then move up and aim for Charlo when he comes back down from the Canelo fight.Comment
