I myself can't accept one loss is the end of the world for most fighters. Look at Lubin, who got beat worse than Spence. The human body is capable of healing itself.

Had they fought earlier, it wouldn’t have been a historical winner takes all unification fight.
Crawford would have had to fight one more guy to “prove” he’s the absolute man at 147.
All he has to do now is defend against the likes of Boots (50/50 fight) and Ortiz to further enhance his legacy.
        So there was no smokescreen

I thought Spence would beat Crawford and after that beating, weight class does not matter.
Crawford will DESTROY Spence again at 154
          Fair enough

Every fighter from Mosley, Porter, Jones Jr., Wilder, etc keeps going back to how Spence getting down to 147 lbs really impacted his performance in the fight against Bud Crawford. We are not boxers and do not go through the daily grinds and lifestyle that boxers go through. While I think that Spence got beaten up and outboxed on Saturday, he didn't seem like himself that day. His body has outgrown the 147 lb weight limit. He would do better fighting Bud at 154 lbs. Do I think he would win against Bud at 154 lbs, I don't know. But I think he deserves a chance to find out. Fellow boxers are not as hard on Spence as the general public. We all should take a wait and see approach with Spence Jr in his rematch with Bud and give him the benefit of the doubt for the champion that he is.
I agree to an extent... It didn't seem as if Errol rehydrated too much in this fight which means he was probably closer to being at weight for all longer... But where was the concern about a weight cut when he beat Danny Garcia as a comeback fight after the car accident... and when he beat Ugas... We can't only use that as a recourse when fighters lose... If a fighter wins the weight-cut is almost never mentioned... when a fighter loses he was weight-drained... 147 is 147...

In addition, if this alleged quack is telling the truth; Then Spence wouldn't have been medically cleared to fight Saturday night in the first place. They run extensive tests on these fighters like: CT Scans and MRIs.

If any neurological damage was detected then Errol wouldn't have been cleared to fight and would have received a subsequent medical suspension with his boxing license revoked in the process.
What's crazier than that is, if he won we wouldn't even be talking bout his neurological condition...

Maybe you're right. I'm guessing it did good PPV numbers. Spence's best chance to win may have been right after Crawford beat Horn, but there was all of that "other side of the street" talk. Regarding Boots, I think he's going to be waiting. Crawford's next fight is likely Spence again at 154, and then see what Charlo does. Does Crawford ever fight at 147 again? Isn't Boots' inability to get a big fight because he isn't affiliated with Haymon? He's on the wrong side of the street. Regarding Ortiz, that guy is never fighting at 147 again. I'll be surprised if he ever fights again. Who will sign to fight him when chances are he will pull out the night before the fight?

From what I read, I don't see where Porter said Spence would win a rematch. If he really thinks that, he might be the only person on the planet who thinks that could happen.

Almost everyone does not want to see a rematch. At this point Errol's main concern should be his health. That kind of beating can end careers.

Stephen A. Smith is not a boxer. He doesn't know the first thing about boxer's lifestyles and how they live. He is just a guy who is paid well to have a big mouth about various sports topics.
