No, if a rematch is written in the contract, and both want the fight at 154, then it is almost certain to happen, regardless of how close or how one-sided the fight was.

If I were Crawford, I wouldn’t move up to fight a rematch against Spence at 154 lbs. Why fix what ain’t broke? I don’t think Spence wants to fight Crawford again at 147. That would free both boxers to pursue other fights. As much as Spence wants to atone for his performance against Bud - - I don’t think he’d try it at 147 again.

hopefully it ends up like Canelo's contracted rematch vs. Bivol

Spence should step aside with the rematch and allow Crawford honour the mandatory of fighting Ennis. This will enable Spence to recover fully for a rematch at 154.

Pointless speculation. Crawford by his own admission has 2-3 fights left in his career. If he gives Spence a rematch it’ll be because Spence has forced it and he’ll get some more retirement money. Other than that he’s clearly not going to waste one of his last few fights on a high risk low reward fighter like Ennis. Not a hope. He’ll go after Charlo at 154 or fight for those titles if Charlo decides he’s not coming back down if Canelo batters him.

Personally I think Ennis would probably get beat anyway. He’s too aggressive and still gets hit too much by much less skilled fighters than Crawford. He’s also a victim of his own success in that he’s avoided- the down side of which is that he’s never faced anyone even close to Crawford’s skill level, movement, accuracy etc etc.

Been following boxing for years and lost count of the number of prospects I’ve seen fail at the first hurdle. They’re only prospects up until that first loss and until they face a live body truth is no one can predict if that happens. That said Boots has more promise than anyone I’ve seen for a long time. He should face Thurman, that would be a good measure of where he’s at. Or Ugas. Ortiz is done at 147 so shouldn’t even enter the conversation. Clearly can’t make weight any more and my guess is he’ll do nothing at 154 without the size advantage.

Ennis is right. It’s time for Bud to give him his opportunity at the Welterweight crown but I know he won’t.

He would just simply move up to 154 before that happens because Jaron Is young, can fight and it would be too risky of a proposition for Terence Crawford.

Besides the fight won’t generate a lot of revenue.

Let’s not kid yourself! Neither Crawford or Spence would not come within a hundred yards of this kid because he is that good and too risky.

Bud’s no fool! Unless Boots build a strong fan base with a large following and become a crossover box office star; Then he can forget about it.

                  Crawford won’t touch him.

It wouldn't make sense to have the rematch at 147, it needs to be at a weight which will be ok for spence too, we've seen that crawford took advantage of spence by spence being half dead before he even entered the ring. Can't give crawford credit for beating a shell...but I doubt he'd take the fight at 154 he knows spence would spark him. How come he looked fresh and spence looked done even after the first round even tho he didn't get hit? So any idiot out there giving bud props is a casual.

Then Crawford should fight him next then since he is the mandatory challenger to his IBF title. If he doesn’t defend his titles then he should just vacate them.

Let him move up to the 154 lbs weight division in order to challenge Jermell Charlo’s undisputed Super welterweight crown.

I believe that was his plan all along after winning the undisputed welterweight crown against Errol Spence.
