  • Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford Trainer: If Bud Had Another Minute, He Would've Stopped Spence In Second Round

Brian McIntyre thinks Terence 'Bud' Crawford's second round knockdown of Errol Spence Jr. was more than just of the "flash" variety. The longtime trainer of the newly crowned undisputed welterweight champion from Omaha, Nebraska, feels his charge could have stopped Spence as early as the second round when Crawford scored the first of three knockdowns in their high-profile fight.

Bud don't stop anyone that fast, so that bud would stop spence in 1 round is proof spence isn't all there. Garcia softened spence up for ugas,Ugas softened spence up for bud. Bud had softened spence up for whoever fights spence next

      I think so

Watch Errol walking back to the corner, he couldn't walk in a straight line

Getting knocked out by the pavement softened Spence up for both Ugas and Crawford but Crawford’s superior skills can take full advantage. Either way Spence has to change his moniker. I have enjoyed watching his come up but he is no match for Crawford at any weight

I feel like after Charlo gets knocked cold by Canelo, he should come back down and try to revenge his boy Errol

I don't think Spence was seriously hurt after the first knockdown. So even if extended one more minute, Spence most likely would have survived.

He was hurt after getting knocked down all other times though.

He was hurt. His legs were shaky when he got back to his feet. It was shocking to me because I too thought it was a flash knockdown, but damage was definitely done.

Kinda weird having Bomac give insight to Errol's faults. Like why hasn't Derrick taken any steps to correct these glaring flaws?

kid looked in good form after the accident. Now he got his ass beat and it’s time to bring in the excuses. He said himself after the accident “no broken bones I’m a savage” and came right back in the game no tuneup and won. KO Ugas (who is trash, but whatever).

he ran into a superior fighter. If Bud hadn’t stopped all his opponents at WW or if Spence looked weak chinned in his fights post car accident you might have a point. But neither are true. He ran into a better guy w real power and he lost. It’s boxing. **** happens. Win some lose some. Nothing to be ashamed of

Yes, that’s a very true statement. Not to take anything away from Crawford’s performance which was exceptional.

However, Spence has not been the same fighter since that car accident. It left him permanently damaged but not ruined.

For example: He has fought only a total of three times in four years since his unification bout with Shawn Porter.

However, he has only himself to blame. That was not Crawford’s fault.

It was a self-inflicted wound. At 2 o’clock in the morning; When everyone is asleep in bed.

Errol Spence is out at the strip clubs partying with his friends. Which caused that accident.
