Comments Thread For: Zhilei Zhang: Fury is a Disgrace To Boxing For Facing Ngannou, Shame on Him!

Chinese heavyweight giant Zhilei Zhang is eager to get in the ring with WBC world champion Tyson Fury in the future. Back in April, Zhang pulled off a big upset when he stopped Joe Joyce to capture the WBO's interim-title.

I guess everyone sees what real boxing fans have known for the longest time ; Fury really is a hype job
Beating Wilder wasn’t going to make him all time great
Wilder is the equivalent of AJ in England
Just another fighter who was put on a pedestal for the casual fan to fall for it and at the same time convincing the boxer fan of the lie
      Don't bet with your heart , I know it’s hard but don’t

He expressed in simple words what most people think. I am somehow a fan of Fury but I hate what he's been doing to boxing in the last year or so

Tyson has built a platform to make big money , considered by most as the best since Lewis.Joshua and Usyk didn't come off and it's a good argument that it's wasn't just Fury's fault and Zhang said here if his rematch with Joyce wasn't forced it would have been him facing Fury next, as the dal was about done. As Joshua said when Fury tried recently , he was going to go his own route ! , Usyk who struggles to sell went and signed for a Saudi money group and that doesn't happen over night ! .I hate this cross over event but put yourself in Tyson's shoe's , would you take this massive payday against a novice, when you struggle to get a bonanza payday against anyone else ? ....Lets see how it pans out over the next year , I'll give Fury a pass on this horrible money grab for now but I want to see him fight Uysk next if the little man gets by DD as he should, but the Saudi money thing will see less fights for bigger money and there's a chance it will backfire with huge fights like last nights Crawford/Spence in a place where true fans can watch with a real boxing atmosphere, where these big fights belong!

Fair comment from Zhang, and I like him as a fighter, very underrated.

I'd venture to say though, that if all other heavyweights were offered guaranteed millions to fight Ngannou in the square ring, they'd accept.

Easy money they'd think, fighting a MMA fighter who's never had a pro boxing bout.

Yes, obviously it's a ridiculous mismatch, just mentioned why they do these crossover events.

I agree. Any fighter would be a fool not to take that Saudi money. I’m not sure i like these big fights there. Fighters are going to avoid each other even more if they have a high ranking & a shot at some of that Saudi money. This is why expect Whyte to be in top shape for Joshua. A win doesn’t guarantee him that Wilder fight in SA but it sure puts him into position to be considered.
