Mike constantly jumps the gun and rather be the first to report a story than just get the story right. He's the reason why had all of these fake announcements around this fight for the past year.
PBC doesn’t like Coppinger’s reporting, and he ended up being replaced by Stephen A. Smith who they did give a credential to. It is what it is.
Copp is very good at what he does. Pissing off the powers that be shouldn’t be a reason to get silenced. In fact more boxing journalists should be encouraged to be like him. Withholding credentials is a way to make sure that the complete opposite happens and only loyal lapdogs report on the sport.Comment

Of course he didn't. He'll never answer the question either.
The ****** thing about it is that there are a lot white people working with PBC. It's not like they banned everyone that's white. The issue is with Coppinger alone. Making it about race is asinine and uncalled for.
He's alao implying that Stephen A Smith isn't qualified to replace Coppinger although Smith is one of the top dogs at ESPN. It's the "Only getting the job because he's black" trope. That in itself is racist. Shoulder Roll has issues. There is no getting around it.

Stephen A Smith is one of the top dogs at ESPN. So why wouldn't they use him? You're implying that he's only getting the job because he's black. That in itself is racist.

There are a lot of white people working with PBC. They don't have a history of discrimination. That's your made up BS. The issue is with Coppinger alone. They don't like his reporting as you admitted yourself. You should have left it at that. Instead of that you just exposed your typical anti-black rhetoric. You're not hard to see through.
You've never done that with Arum, Golden Boy, or any other promoters. So pick another lie. That one won't work.Last edited by joseph5620; 07-29-2023, 11:06 AM.Comment

I did criticize Arum for getting rid of Teddy. It happened after Teddy went on a rant about the scorecards for the Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight.
Atlas wasn’t replaced by a ***, though. That’s why I wouldn’t have claimed anything like that.
Is Stephen A. Smith as knowledgeable about the boxing scene as Mike Coppinger? No. It’s not even close. His expertise is the NBA but he is a huge casual when it comes to boxing.

Also, see above. I absolutely did do that with Arum who is my least favorite of all the promoters. I don’t recall Golden Boy denying a credential to a big time reporter but if they did I’d be against that too.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 07-29-2023, 11:21 AM.Comment

SAS is the top reporter at ESPN. The fact that he's covering the fight shows that ESPN values it.

He asked you if you said they got rid of Atlas due to race. Why are you incapable of answering a simple question? I don't get it.

Did you put Bob Arum denying credentials down to race, or not? Because if you didn't you are continuing the theme of constant inconsistency in your arguments.
The issue here is not that a credential was taken, the issue is you are baselessly inserting race into the argument. What evidence do you have that Coppinger was denied his credential because he's not black?Last edited by IronDanHamza; 07-29-2023, 12:03 PM.Comment
