He needs to beat Spence otherwise he will rank very low on the list of ATG welterweights.

This is his real acid test , he’s been expected to beat everyone he’s fought and is favourite with the bookie’s again . A loss would question his statement , be it only slightly, unless he gets ironed out.

Absolutely not. I am actually a fan of Crawford, yet a bigger fan of Spence. However, I think they truly NEEEED each other. Crawford is not an ATG. He is "one of the best fighters in his weight class in his era" type of fighter status. If Crawford loses to Spence, then to me he retains that status as one of the top fighters in his weight class in his era. If he wins, then he arguably the best welterweight in his era. Keyword "arguably". Spence I feel has a better resume which puts him in a better position if HE wins as THE best welterweight of his time (not just arguably) because of his better comparable resume to Crawford.

However with all of that said, I believe they both need a win over the other to have a better case of first ballot HOF and great of their era status. ATG is a little much for Crawford. I think Spence is closer if he has an impressive win though. I have no problem with both getting into the HOF. There are lesser fighters in the HOF. I have a problem with Crawford's ATG claims even if he loses.

CRAWFORD - he's been impressive in pretty much every big win, but not the stuff of ATG to me
        Burns - good traveling win
Gamboa - who was undefeated at the time, good win her though Gamboa was at a weird place in his career still seeking the elite fight
        Postol - good win
Indongo - unifying definitely helped him become one of the better fighters of his era
Horn - tough but overrated off home cooking Pacman win
Khan - we know where he was at this stage
Brook - good win, though on the tail end of his career
Porter - good win, Porter in do or retire stage of his career

SPENCE - he has better "names" than Crawford, though I don't look at his resume as lightyears better
Algerie - impressive in how he won, but Chris proved to be not at the elite level in losses to Pacman and Khan
Bundu - good win, but obviously not against a great
Brook - good win, especially considered he traveled to the UK, but knocked for Brook having gotten beaten up by GGG in the fight before
Peterson - had seen better days
Mikey Garcia - great win, but against a smaller top fighter, still impressive considering he outboxed a great boxer rather than just steamrolling him with size
Porter - great win, at least a better version of Porter than Crawford fought
Danny Garcia - great win considering his car accident comeback circumstance, though Garcia already proved to be a step below the elite-elite
Ugas - great win in unifying titles vs an Ugas coming off a streak including a less than active Pacman

When I really break down both of their resumes, it further confirms to me that they need a big win vs one another just to get in that HOF/Great of their Era talk. However, beating one another I don't think puts them in ATG territory. Crawford has an edge because he has a chance to become undisputed in two weight classes. For Spence, it's becoming undisputed for the first time with good "names" on his resume.

I am picking Spence to win this one

Even if he beats Spence he doesn’t have a very strong ATG case.
He has no one else to blame but himself. He wasted his best years hiding behind Arum and taking fights no one cared about.
He definitely passes the eye test but he will be quickly forgotten when he’s done.

Crawford should have taken the torch from Pacquiao. It's like Arum did not trust him enough.

Youve wasted 5 years at WW before being ready for Spence, and as a result hav developed a reputation for trying to keep zero, yet you want to be above Inoue, usyk and nelo?

No it shouldn't be there hasn't been a real p4p great at welterweight since Floyd left. Probably never will be all these current fighters lack the fortitude and just want to fight as little as often for as much pay as possible taking little to no risk. Why is Crawford 35 years old and only just now being involved in a 50/50 fight? Yeah real atg material
