if you look at spence's resume. this was the status of the fighter's when he fought them:

Brook - current world champ
Lamont peterson - current world champ but got stripped
Mikey garcia- current unified world champ at the division below
Porter-coming off win vs ugas
Danny garcia- coming off split loss in unified fight vs thurman
Ugas- current world champ


compared to crawford:

-gamboa - yea he was undefeated at the time but was seen as fragile and was smaller guy, crawford did get hurt in that fight , came back well though
burns, beltran and lundy were all similar level and he fought all three- burns drew with beltran, who got a MD vs lundy
-felix diaz was an olympic gold medallist . i think this was crawford's best performance, completely battered diaz, fight sh ould have been stopped earlier imo, was brutal
Brook and khan way best prime. Porter didnt train properly according to his trainer . Avanesyan is small. Horn low level. Jose benavidez 1 leg. postol was a good win but he did move a lot vs him. wasnt a performance thats out of this world. moved a lot to take away postols jab and caught him with a counter shot with hurt him

seems like spence has the better resume.

and who knows if crawford would have re-signed with top rank if arum did not lose money with him.
