I think Sillyman put the cart before the horse in regards to Charlo. I think he thought that Charlo was getting in the ring soon and so he paid all this lip service to 'mental health, take your time champ' not really believing what he said, and Charlo took him up on his word. Now Sillyman can't walk back his statements so he can only dig deeper into the hole he's dug.

It's like when you disingenuously invite someone to do something thinking they'll refuse, but they flip the script on you and agree to go.
