  • Comments Thread For: Jared Anderson Backs Oleksandr Usyk To Get "Very Easy" Win Over Daniel Dubois

After taking part in the toughest fight of his career, heavyweight contender Jared Anderson will continue his march up the ranks next month. Earlier this month, Anderson went the full ten round distance with former IBF world champion Charles Martin. Anderson had stopped his previous 14 opponents.

Usyk will target that eye and twist Dubois in clinches from southpaw stance to make him trip and eventually that knee will go.

I dunno man... I'm definitely taking 9/1 on Dubois knocking out Usyk. AJ, Beterbiev, Gassiev and Glowacki have all hurt Usyk in the past. Dubois knocked out AJ in sparring and is a heavy puncher (hurt Joe Joyce in their fight also) so who's to say he can't knock out Usyk.

A power puncher in the heavyweight division should never be 9/1 for a KO!? Its either gonna be Usyk by decision or a Dubois KO in my opinion.

Usyk is the favorite to win this but we must remember this is HW and Dubois can hit hard. If he fights a Chisora-style fight, he's in with a chance but if he tries to outbox Usyk, it is game over for him. The purse split between them is 75-25 and my winning percentages would be somewhat similar.

I remember the talk about 5 years back that Dubois had hurt and dropped AJ in sparring, but did he really knock him out? It would go a long ways towards explaining the shift in AJ's approach. Years back, 1991, a certain top name ascending undefeated heavyweight was cold KO'd in sparring by a cruiserweight. There were no more than a dozen people present and for the most part it was quickly covered up. A year later said heavyweight won the World heavyweight title.

I view Dubois as a very heavy hitter, but I also sense he has perferations built-in, and folds along those at the precise moment too much heat comes his way. He does have heart, as we saw in his last match, but those perferations were also there to be seen.

I think if the version of ddd that had so much promise turns up he might surprise Usyk

Seems the likely outcome. Although tbh at 36 Usyk is most likely actively in decline so the bubble could burst soon, thats why its so ****ing **** that we arent getting the Fury fight ASAP to make sure we dont lose yet another big fight due to overmarinating.

But yeah, Dubois is young, big, decently athletic and has power, but in terms of skills and experience hes many levels below, and the Joyce fight shows he can be physically and mentally broken down, although I expect him to lose a wide UD.

I agree with Anderson. It should be "easy", as long as Usyk doesn't go into the fight expecting it to be easy (ala tyson/douglas), which I think he's too much of a hardworking pro for that. And, judging by Dubois' recent outing, i think this is Usyk's best chance to get a ko at this weight.
