        I told him to since he spars with a prospect who he commonly matches with pretty well but he say he wants 30+ amateur fights

            Not sure the 30 extra amateur fights will impact his pro career much. I think he should just turn over. Learn on the job like alot of Mexican fighters have.

            Only advantage staying amateur would have is if he won some big tournament giving him some appeal to promoters when he turns over. Easier said than done considering the activiy level to this point

                It depends on the area you live in. Obviously in major cities there's more opportunity while rural areas you have to cast your net out over a larger area. But guys at my gym can get a handful of fights every few months and we're not exactly in a major amateur boxing area.
