Amateurs fight more often than professionals do just by nature of how the seasons work in amateur tournaments. Unfortunately, the reality of modern boxing is one or two fights year due to financial obligations and scheduling concerns. The issue isn't always the boxers but the networks and promoters not having the necessary resources available. Does something need to change? Yes, but it isn't until there's a level of regulation.

When a fighter turns professional there seems to be two ways they can go about it 'Accumulate fights, and look to impress with a raw statistic. Or focus on more quality over quantity'.
A fighter like Wilder, just accumulated fights and a raw statistic 'But even Wilder compared to past era's was not super active'.
Mike Tyson accumulated fights, a raw statistic but his pre-Championship fights for me were of a high quality 'Mike Tyson for the most part was facing solid fighters'.
Anthony Joshua pre-Championship, his fights were of a higher quality than somebody like Wilder 'But even then as a contender he was not a active fighter'.
Note: Out of those three fighters, who was the most compete and all round experienced battled equipped fighter 'It was Mike Tyson'.
Tyson Fury out of all these modern Heavyweights within his era, I personally think has been managed the best. As a contender his activity level, and the fights he was taking 'They were of a similar style to Mike Tyson's pre-Championship preparation'.
And even now as Champion, if the aim is to keep Tyson Fury winning 'But make it appear to the public like he is really having meaningful fights, Fury's match making has been the best'.
Of course boxing fans know what Fury is about 'I don't think he has ever been this, taking on all comers type of fighter at any point in his career'. Even David Price in a recent interview stated that 'Fury avoided him when they were supposed to fight. And it would of been a mega domestic fight, probably the biggest non-Championship domestic fight for 20-30 years'.
Tyson Fury's timing and know when to take fights, team Fury are very astute at making these moves 'They have been astute until of late'.
Because I personally think Fury not fighting Joshua & Usyk already, has been a tactical mistake 'Fury in my opinion is not maintaining his form and does not have the long game as a Athlete like Joshua, Usyk or even Wilder'.
Tyson Fury was 246-248 pounds vs Kiltschko 7-8 years ago, Fury is now consistently 270 + pounds 'Fury is in this condition, because he no longer wants to train like he used to under Peter Fury'.
It is not just about weight it is about performance, Fury fights fatigued 'In any pressing fights, he is badly fatigued by rounds 2-3 he was vs Wilder'.
But we have the media and his hardcore fans, TELLING US that Fury is a better fighter now. Fury is more aggressive, he may fight more offensively sometimes 'Well because he has to, contrary to the status quo? Tyson Fury gets hit , gets busted up more than Anthony Joshua. The statistics show this, and it should be more concerning that Fury is getting battered anytime he fights another genuine World level fighter since Kiltschko.
Fury was busted up real good by Wallin, and battered lets get it right 'Deontay Wilder battered Fury over the trilogy, and by the looks of it Fury does not really want to fight top boxers anymore since Wilder'.
Everyone's going on about, oh Joshua is not the same fighter anymore, Usyk's style is going to degrade soon. These fighters have a work ethic that is completely on another level to Fury.
Fury out of the top-4 Heavyweights, has historically got the worst work ethic 'And anyone Athlete will tell you? Work ethic and long game'.
Note: The long Fury takes to make the fights vs Joshua & Usyk the likely-hood of Fury winning decreases theoretically. Because it is now a competition or who is going to be the last man standing 'And in that sort of environment and situation, fighters like Usyk, Joshua and maybe even Wilder I think are better prepared to endure that than Fury'.
None of these observational outcomes are for certain, but what I am saying is that there is evidence. There is a definitive theory that Tyson Fury maybe for the first time in his career has made a tactical mistake, when it comes to match making and reading a fight or fighters 'Maybe Fury knows this himself and this is why he seemingly, does not really want to take on all comers'.
Boxing in the professional ranks, is not just about fighting. It is also about making moves outside of the ring 'Which could mean a whole manner of things'. Reading a fight, fighters and analyzing the landscape 'These are skills that some fighters have better than others, and Fury I personally think has these skills to a higher level than most of his nearest competition'.
Joshua has people around him, kind of managing and chartering his route to a certain extent 'And Usyk is maybe similar'. But Tyson Fury in comparison he is like his own artist, Fury does not need a biographer, when Fury walks in a room or down a street 'Fury is at the front, everyone else is behind him'.
And Tyson Fury has been doing this for so long, it does not matter who he is working with 'They are all front men, and if they stay around long enough they become YES MEN only in the presence of Fury'.
And I just think Fury has potentially made a tactical mistake in boxing 'These big business people, very experienced promoters on the sly on some level know Fury is making mistakes and has made the wrong moves of late' etc.

Fighters should be fighting 3x a year less a champ 1 of those should be a challenge while the other 2 they can continue resume building everyone wins (fans finally get decent fights more often) promotions can continue padding their talents records in the processComment

To be fair, you could argue quality over quantity matters too. Yeah AJ has fought twice this year but its vs ****ing Franklin and Shyte. If by some miracle he actually does fight Wilder at the end of the year its a different story but so far its fighting more regularly against underwhelming opponents.Comment

Fighters aren't active enough in modern boxing... And fans are trigger happy when it comes to writing off fighters for the slightest thing.
Joshua: 28 professional fights, 12 of them championship fights. Stopped once. Never knocked clean out. Got hit clean by Klitschko's right hand and got back up to win the fight. Got knocked down numerous times by Ruiz and got back on his feet each time. But yeah, his chin is made of papier mache...Comment

Kilts came out of retirement to drop him then gas out. If Going life and death with an aged klitschko is what ur basing his chin off of that’s funny. He got KOd by ruiz who couldn’t even finish 90 year old Ortiz

Did Klitshko suddenly lose some power when he hit 40?
I laid out my case; I have nothing further to add.Comment
