It’s a good fight for AJ at this time, I don’t think he’s been busy enough through his career and fighting what looks like 3 fights this year is the right move. Joshua vs Wilder should be a barnstormer providing he comes through Whyte, which he should do comfortably.

Great summer of fights and looking forward to all of them. Surprised this was made as always saw it as a last chance come back fight for AJ as it would always generate interest so one to save to the very end of his career. Maybe that'll still happen and they'll fight a 4th time

Never about the boxing with this smarmy clown.
Before Usyk its was "WE could drop the wbo & fight someone else", meaning shot old man to carry on the milking.
5 year's ago, Wilder Aj..... Take all my fcuking money!
Today, bore off. It's only because of Saudi blood money the fight's getting made.Last edited by Bob; 07-08-2023, 06:40 AM.

But I think the UK public is catching on, an AJ fight in August was a slam dunk stadium fight even 2 years ago, now? The O2, says it all about the current state of affairs.
The O2 has the largest capacity of any indoor arena in the UK 'Do you think this fight will struggle to sell out mate?'.
So, fighting Whyte and potentially Wilder is a con? What is not true? What is the trick here?
Is Dillian Whyte not a professional boxer? I am just trying to understand what is the con here?
What are the UK public catching on to? And when they do catch on to this whatever, what does this mean?
Do you know boxing mate, you are talking like somebody who really knows a lot about the business side of the sport.
Can you tell me what stadium fights have been agreed with 4 weeks to go? 2 days ago nobody knew the opponent for Joshua etc.

1. A stadium fight not happening is again a reflection of AJ's current commercial value, they have said for months they wanted to do an AJ fight in August, going back to the spring, if Hearn had absolute confidence that AJ was viable, he would have put a stadium on hold months ago no matter who the opponent was, clearly those days are over, which serves my point.
2. I don't think the fight will struggle to sell out because it's an indoor arena, UK tickets are actually fairly priced unlike fights here stateside. AJ has a loyal but dwindling following, and Whyte has the gatekeeper/Folk hero angle rocking for him, so it will sell, but won't make much money overall, I doubt AJ pulls down 15 million for the fight.
3. Whyte is a con, he a two time drug cheat, he has been knocked the F out 3 times, he is a domestic HW, not a global competitor, he isn;t getting the Wilder fight even if he wins, he has nothing to offer Deontay, he looked like a washed up bum in two consecutive fights, yet they are selling this as some big matchup, it's not, not to mention, Hearn has been using Wilder to promote AJ for years, it's just never been this bad before, but AJ's stock has never been lower on the world level. AJ has fallen off, big time, soft, gun shy, terrified of exchanges, he is awful right now. This fight might snatch half the buys the first fight did, both men have performed poorly recently.
4. The UK public is not going to fill up stadiums to watch AJ fight anyone, those days are over, they have caught on, either he goes after real competition, or he fights in arenas, he is no longer a golden goose, and that's is due to consumer demand plummeting along with his appetite for combat.
5. I have forgotten more about boxing than you know, I have worked in the industry, and in the gym, this fight, these two fighters, suck, it's a gatekeeper super bowl
6. Again, if Hearn had any confidence in AJ, he would have put a stadium on hold in May, and let the chips fall where they may, but without a serious dance partner, AJ can't pack a stadium.
