Sounds like he is running from Fury.

Suddenly the money will be there for the fight and the WBC will say we shouldn't mix sports with politics.
And Beterbiev was with Matchroom/DAZN, but abruptly left after one fight.

Bivol signed with MR on January 9, 2019
Beterbiev left MR on January 15, 2019Last edited by LA_2_Vegas; 07-07-2023, 05:50 PM.

I agree with Bivol, remaining at 175 to clear out his division, and unification of the titles against Beterbiev.
His mistake was not accepting the terms that Canelo offered him for a rematch, defeating Canelo a second time would've been icing on the cake.

Both Morel and Benavidez could move up to challenge Bivol,if either of them got a win against Bivol it would make a huge statement, it would definitely put them in the driver's seat if Alvarez would ever meet them.

Bivol does more posturing than fighting these days. He said he wouldn't move up because his focus is on 175 but he just rejected a Canelo at 175 lol. And earlier this year his manager had been in talks with Beterbiev for a unification but decided it wasn't financially worthwhile despite the legacy first claims. He could be in the gym training for a Canelo fight right now but instead he's inactive while trying to knock Canelo saying if he moves up it will be at the full division unlike Canelo as if Canelo didn't move up to fight him at the full division at 175. The guy is trying to take credit on paper for talking about doing something Canelo has several times over.
Canelo unified titles at 154, 160 and 168 along with facing 2 of the 3 Russian champs at 175 while the three haven't fought each other once, and yet Bivol who's the same age yet has made no effort to unify his one division, is somehow knocking Canelo's career moves? Beterbiev has been in the Russian press calling him out for saying he wants the fight without making it happen, although the US based media hasn't reported it on it because they're too busy fawning over Bivol as he sits out inactive talking about fights he dismissed.Last edited by Caxcan; 07-08-2023, 02:56 AM.
