Had this happened when it was originally planned in 2019 it would’ve sold out Wembley in hours.

AJ against essentially anyone would’ve sold out a stadium, we seen that against Takam, Povetkin, Parker etc.

Whyte is a far bigger name in the UK than all those guys and Fury-Whyte just broke the attendance record for boxing at Wembley.

Yet this fight is only at the O2 Arena despite taking place in the Summer. Can Joshua no longer draw the stadium crowds?

The hype had certainly died down and after having lost a few fights, it’s a rebuild fight for AJ against someone he’s already knocked out, and who himself lost his last fight. Fury at the time of the Whyte fight was the fan favourite after beating up Wilder again and AJ’s subsequent losses. However, boxing fans are fickle and the tide has now turned against Fury as well, he wouldn’t sell out Wembley either now against anyone other than AJ or Usyk.

I always expected the AJ-Whyte rematch to be a stadium fight. Even just based on name value alone.

I highly doubt it. Fury just sold out Tottenham against a shot to bits Chisora in a fight NOBODY asked for.

Whites lost too many times so nobody needs to see it. They will save their money for the Josh v fury fight at wembley

I mean, the missing common denominator in all those fights should be obvious, right?

Joshua v Takam, Povetkin, and Parker and Fury v Whyte were all world heavyweight title fights. Joshua vs Whyte II is just two guys.

I don’t know the football season schedule but does that come into play at all?

I’m not mad with the fight personally..

It’s definitely a contributing factor but name value is far more important than the belts. Look at Tank-Garcia compared to Haney-Loma.

Joshua and Whyte have headlined multiple PPV’s in this country. Easily 20 plus between them. They’re big names over here or at least they were.

I wouldn’t think so, aside from the Charity Shield Wembley should be available unless it’s booked up with concerts. Spurs will also put on events mid season as they did for Usyk-AJ 1 and Fury-Chisora 3. I think the demand just isn’t there which has surprised me tbh.

Hearn’s saying it’s because they already had 02 booked or something.

                    Who knows.

I expect it to do well on PPV.
