Devin Haney Blames Floyd Mayweather For “Messed Up” State Of The Sport

  • Messed up state of the sport is Haney not giving Loma a rematch.

Floyd had two close and somewhat controversial wins, and he ran them back to remove any doubt. That's what legends do.

I'm not a Mayweather fan at all, but I have high level respect for him. It's not his fault young fighters want to make the money he made without proving their greatness first.

Floyd deserves some criticism but he gets too much hate unfairly. Haney on the other hand deserves all the criticism thrown his way at the moment.

    • You could tell there's no disagreement in the "messed up" part of the current state of the sport. Haney got his own opinion who he blames for it.

Never said ODH didnt. The fact is he hadnt been at 147 in 8 years.

Yes it was. Margs was 151. Weight didn’t benefit him.

Yeah he took an easy comeback fight against a dude Manny struggled against. Ok.

Ah. So you point out what cotto said but not what Canelo said about the CW. Very disingenuous to try and ok one but not the other.

He did to Maidana what ODH did to him. What is the issue?

You are leaving stuff out, as usual. Bob was on record as not going to make the ODH fight, so floyd did what he had to do with his own money to make that happen. You criticize that?

Floyd saw how Bob manipulated guys in his stable like cotto. So he did what you guys always ask other guys to do- now you find fault.

          Come on dude.

Yeah he is remembered as the best of his era and an ATG. Fans of guys he beat like you like to emphasize the negatives. I get it - that is what losers do.
LOL, I loved and followed Cotto also. I know his fights like I know mannys, Floyd's and a few others. Miguel accepted the terms, anything said afterwards is BS, period.

I've said this before, I know Floyd is highly skilled and his name can be in a conversation of the most skilled fighters ever. I've followed Floyd since the Olympics knew about him before I even heard about Manny.

But the criticism that Floyd receives from the general public here on this forum and any other article with his name on it will be for the rest of his life. He will never gain that respect of being this great fighter who took all comers. His dismissive attitude, A side antics and early retirements are such a bad look for him during his second half of his career. He deserves that hate, he promoted that hate towards him.

Call me a loser, LOL. You are the one still defending the behavior that even Devin Haney and others have called out on.

Very similar to you and others saying there was no need for PED testing before Manny V JMM 4, only to use suspected PED use as an excuse agter Manny got ktfo.

            Not more false narratives.

Manny turned the fight down multiple times. Needle fear, no ppv. Those arent as bad imo as getting stitches from Arum’s son in law once Nevada delayed Floyd’s jail start date.

I get this isnt in line with the image TR crafted and as a big fan you can’t admit it. As a big fan you justify his refusal to fight.

Once Floyd punked him in Miami he finally signed.

When they fought it was clear why Manny and his team delayed. That was always going to be the outcome.

Floyd is just a better boxer with long arms that makes him a bad style matchup for Manny.
Blah blah blah... All that matters is Floyd and his family saying manny will be easy work easy money and then floyd and his family flip the script when pac said he'll fight floyd. And you wanna talk about excuses LOL.

Manny was a cakewalk for Floyd, cruise control and Manny was totally lost and didn't know what to do. I said a million times back then that Arum didnt want Floyd to kill his goose that laid the golden egg, and in the end it was Floyd who approached Manny in person to make the fight, what proactive gesture did Manny do to make the fight, nothing.

Lmfao. Flip the script. He consistently questioned Manny’s PED use.

Look dude I get it- you can’t get over the fact Floyd fought him and beat him once he finally manned up after getting punked by Floyd in Miami.

                • Just watch the Kenny interview with Floyd and count how many excuses Floyd makes not to fight Pac. Where's the interview where Pac's making any excuse not to fight Floyd?
Floyd was smart. He avoided Pac until he thought the risk was minimal. Fighters are never the same after a devastating KO like the one Marquez put on Pac.

So Arizas inside story is all wrong, lol fans are such hype jockeys, it was always Bob behind why it never happened but that upsets the May hate narrative so its ignored which is amazing to me how truth is so easily brushed aside, unreal.
