Haney needs to focus on his own career.

For all of Floyd’s perceived faults, he cannot be accused of not looking for certainty in a close fight.

Floyd took more risks on his way to the top than most of todays divas. He also accepted he was the B side when he had to, such as the De La Hoya fight because he knew it would take him to the next level. Todays divas want A side treatment without beating anyone with a pulse and use it to duck fights.

Floyd also rematched the likes of Castillo when some people thought he lost. Lets see how willing Haney is to get back in with Loma in his next fight.

Sure Floyd got a bit more selective as he got older but he still took good fights too.

Boxing would better today if fighters were like pre 2007 Floyd, and would be better if the likes of Haney were happy to prove people wrong after close fights rather than running with their controversial win.

This is the reason why haney is good for the sport because he wants every boxer to fight the best and not to follow mayweather footprints that messed up the world of boxing.

It’s was the Mayweather-Pacquiao super fight IMO. It showed fighters that if you make the fans wait demand can actually increase. It made this “marination” bullsh** a lot more popular.

fair play to Mayweather. Boxing is an unforgiving sport and full of leaches, make the most money possible and leave as healthy as possible, but Haney is correct. Mayweather's method of success definitely hurts the sport as a whole. The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight also turned a lot of casuals off, the most anticipated fight in decades was a snoozefest. Hopefully the Spence-Crawford fight turns out to be a classic, but neither of the two are near the cross-over starts like Mayweather and Pacquiaio.

Haney may end up better who knows but right now he is not a pimple on Floyds nutsack and has really fought only 1 elite fighter and could have lost that just as easy as he was given the decision.
regardless of Pimples and circumstances Haney CURRENTLY owns a sheeit load of belts. You can make all kinds of excuses about why he does but that do t matter. You remind me of my wife—-mouths a flapping and not saying anything nobody doesn’t already know or care about. Stick with the facts with me otherwise you’re going to put me to sleep.

i remember years ago when super fight wilder joshua was in the works daddy hearn said his advice would be not to make it as the fight will be even bigger in years to come LOL, this marination BS that was started can also backfire but in the case of floyd pac it worked out perfect for floyd so well done i guess on that one for him but a stinker for the fans

Like one poster said, TIME in this sport is MONEY in the REVERSE way.
The more boxers waste time like sit around, fight once a year, the more they make money in time.
The Jermell case is one of the many prime examples. He fought once a year, then bingo! He is rewarded for it.

I think Devin Haney should shut the *** up. He makes sense but wrong person saying it.

He became WBC champion by fighting nobody and cherrypicked one night hitter Cumbosos at the right time twice.

He lost to his first legit opponent and robbed him.
