Frank Warren is right. Daniel Dubois is a dangerous opponent whom most boxing fans are sleeping on. If Usyk comes in unprepared he could very well lose this fight; By looking ahead to a showdown with Tyson Fury in December.

I agree that Dubois is a dangerous opponent most are sleeping on.
But I don't agree with Warren that Usyk hasn't been impressive. The wins over Joshua were very impressive - about as impressive a heavyweight performance I've seen in a long time. And he did it twice.
As for the Chisora performance, well he was moving up a division and I thought he won it well, even if Chisora will give most fighters a hard time. Fury may have battered Chisora but Fury's length makes that fight impossible for his style to have any effect.Comment

Think a little deeper:
Why didn't you see an initial press conference in Poland for this fight in August?
Where is footage of Daniel Dubois actually training for this fight? Talking about this fight? Walking to the gym to train for this fight? Any Instagram posts?
Who fought Robert Helenius for the WBA mandatory, knocked Helenius out in one round and became the #1 WBA contender?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was. I'm not sold on Daniel's mental fortitude.Comment

When has Usyk ever taken someone lightly?Comment

Before I answer; Let me ask you this question. When was the last time Usyk entered a fight with these many distractions like fighting for undisputed and earning tons of money while doing so in Saudi Arabia? He is under a lot of pressure to win this fight. If he loses then the whole card is scrapped.Last edited by champion4ever; 07-03-2023, 12:24 PM.Comment

After the first AJ fight, he went to Ukraine to defend his home and family, and left for the Second AJ fight. I'd say that was a far bigger distraction than another fight in the future.

Usyk doesn't seem like he gets rattled by anything.Comment

Yes, you are right. He has shown a tremendous amount of calm and poise under similar situations in the past.
However, he is expected to win this fight and all the pressure is on him to deliver.
So he must remain focused and concentrate on the task at hand and not be distracted by the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.Last edited by champion4ever; 07-03-2023, 12:53 PM.Comment

I just don't see him cracking under pressure. He's unlike most fighters I've ever seen. He doesn't seem to thrive off it, it just seems to not bother him at all. That second AJ fight, 99% of guys would have been in their own head about everything and to him it was just another day at the office. Only time I've ever seen him look angry/annoyed was when AJ decided to toss the belts and do a little Karaoke during Usyk;s moment.
