Look, we all know that Jared needs a lot of work, but today's Charles Martin is a better fighter than the green Martin who fought AJ.

He's had 7 years of experience since then... plenty of hard fights, training camps, and sparring sessions.

Joshua beat prime Whyte in his 15th fight and he destroyed prime Martin in his 16th fight. Levels.

Good test. Put him in with someone like Daniel Dubois or Michael Hunter next.

The Dubois fight I like. Two over hyped fighters that are starting to show limitations. Let's see who can take it to the next level. I'd stay away from Hunter. He's got skillz, and if he's in the mood?, that's a tough nights work that might expose him a little too much too soon.

To say the guy is shlt is nonsense. But correct in that, he's over hyped and overrated. Which means that actually, he does need a couple of years to be good. Don't be too quick to dismiss him. Look at Wilder. He's essentially dreadful, and yet with careful matchmaking they gave him a lucrative career. It's ok to assess but too early to judge.

When I heard Tyson bestow that this young boxer was future of divisions I laughed like most things that come from Fury’s mouth but I have been watching his last fights and there is potential. Jared is not ready now but he has some tools. With the right matchmaking and right confidence I could see him as a world title holder.

I think the Martin fight was exactly what he needed. Anderson was able to get some rounds in but most importantly in his young career, fight somebody who truly wanted to win.
Nowadays I think too many fights pad the record with competition who are just going through the gears to get a check. I call them 9to5er Boxers.
You could see from start Martin was locked in. I’m sure Jared discovered new things about his skills and things to improve. I wish more young fighters would be matched in fights like this in the beginning. These types of fights build character.

I’m curious how they match Jared moving forward, the future will tell best if he is truly championship material. I saw they are revisiting the proposed fight and think visa issues will be sorted.

Bob probably gave Fury a bonus to promote Anderson lol.

This is exactly how Martin fights. He doesn't fight with confidence and his output is very low. He just looks to wait, wait, wait..., and try to catch the opponent, all the while getting picked off by a jab and outboxed. He seems like a lazy fighter, similar to the second tier fighters who never really make it to the very top of the heap. He looked totally content to just coast and hope for a moment when Anderson would fade or let off the gas. He's not a grinder. He doesn't have the mentality to dig deep if it's needed. Any time he went forward and attacked he had success but as soon as Anderson started fighting back, Martin would wilt. It was like watching the antithesis of Ali, Holyfield, Frazier, Fury or other fighters with that kind of true fighter's mentality. Martin is too easily discouraged inside the ring.

Lol Fury? Fury showed heart against Wilder and that it is. Fury usually just runs and holds on for dear life.

I like how Jared responded after getting hurt but man I hate how he pulls straight back and doesn't take his feet with him.

I saw someone say they should match him with Wilder. That would be promotional malpractice.

He possibly could beat Wilder. But at this point it would be a massive gamble and a little crazy.

Martin is a sparring partner level opponent, he loses every time he steps up, he just gives his opponent rounds, he doesn`t come to win at all.

People laughed when I told Kossobutskiy would have knocked out Anderson, but I was probably right.

Jared should fight Takam next, Takam is a little better gatekeeper than Martin, he will give him tough rounds also.

Takam is a good test, and good barometer fight of where he's at.

Anderson is a good fighter. He may benefit from a weak heavyweight era once the current upper tier of HW's retires, he is only 23 and has a long career. Tonight showed that he doesn't have elite power.....Joshua destroyed a far younger and better version of Martin quickly. Stopping all those cans made Anderson look incredible.

Anderson showed that he is not a killer when a guy who can crack hits him back. He won via activity. But that last big left from Martin may well have led to something spectacular if not for the bell.

Anderson needs to really work on a lot before he moves up in comp. At this stage I'd say AJ and Wilder both KO him, and Fury would gut him. Uzyk outboxes him easily.

Um the current heavyweights are weak kid. We have overrated Usyk a blown up cruiser weight who can only land 20 percent of his punches against stationary targets like Joshua. We have no skilled Deontay Wilder who power is legendary because he knocked out a 50 year old Ortiz. Then we have the hype job of the century in Tyson Fury who is the greatest fighter ever because he beat a old Wladimir Klitschko by running ( If Fury beating a old Wlad makes him great then wouldn't that meant Ross Purritty, Lamon Brewster, and Corrie Sanders are even great for beating a prime Wlad) and Fury beat no skilled Deontay Wilder. The current heavyweights are a joke so Anderson doesn't have to wait for anything.
