He didn`t have much choice back than. he wanted a big pay day and there was no such thing for him at 147.
Why was Kell Brook attacked for fighting Golovkin and was never given any props?

Hearn was targeting Khan when Brook gained a belt held by Porter. Eddie then gave Brook unlimited number of fights that were tailor-made for Kell. But Khan was not budging, he showed zero interest in the fight till fans, UK fans in particular, have had enough of the quality of fights he's taking. Thinking that Khan will never fight Brook, Eddie Hearn started calling out PBC fighters, and you're right, no one was interested.
Khan was the reason why Brook fought soft touches as interim for the anticipated Khan fight.
But then, the Khan fight seemed had zero chance of happening. And they started changing course.
Khan fight finally happened for Brook, strangely enough, without Eddie Hearn's involvement.Comment

Well yeah in a way it was brave to jump up to face GGG but also nobody gave him a chance at all in that fight and we knew GGG would bust his face in..... we knew it wouldnt be competitive, so it was a pointless fight. fans would have rather saw him and khan fight in their primes or brook fight someone competitive than GGG. It could be seen as a cash out, he is taking a guaranteed L for the pay day while helping GGG avoid real challenges and at the same time the L is less risk to his career since it was at a higher weight class, vs taking on competitive fights in his own weight class if he gets an L there its more damaging and higher risk.Comment

You know, it's funny how some people say Golovkin wouldn't fight anybody. The reality is that nobody wanted to fight him when he had the highest KO ratio in the sport.Comment

I don't give fighters props when the only win in the scenario is a pay day. Not sure I buy all the oribital **** from British fighters. Especially seeing Eddie Hearn after the first Usyk fight telling Joshua to claim he lost due to eye injury. I give AJ props for not doing it.Comment

But small Kell was brave enough to fight GGG. Nobody said he's brave. But here, these Charlos are 6 foot tall and their fans say they're brave to fight 5'8" tall TheFaceOfBoxing.Comment

I've almost forgotten about Amir Khan. And that's true.

Kell's real money fight was Khan. He also played waiting game. Main difference was he kept himself busy while waiting. Khan finally did something seven years later to make the fight happen.Comment

Khan told Brook on sky tv's ringside show "go to America and win a belt and ill fight you" but he was talking bs and Brook spent too long waiting for the Khan fight and there was nothing at 147 for him other than a lot of euro bums until things fell in place and Hearn could no longer sell that to the public and a space opened when Eubank lost his pen
it was a ****** move for Brook he could have been a player at 147 if he waited but still huge balls stepping in with GGG when he was smashing everyone in his path and he gave a good account of himself while it lasted. He started lighting Golovkin up with some beautiful shots but sadly they had no effect and in the end he started to get smashed up but props to him ending the fight on his feet still even with a broken faceComment
