it’s wild people knock Charlo for this move. Charlo who has fully unified the division and fought pretty much everybody at 154 with the exception of Hurd, and now a very new to the scene Tim Tszyu. He JUST fully unified last fight and now he’s supposed to pass up on an opportunity to fight Canelo for a second undisputed reign to fight Tim Tszyu ??

Fighters have been waiting their whole damn careers for a shot at Canelo and Charlo is supposed to be ****** enough to say “I’ll pass…” ? Why ?? To defend titles he’s already fully unified against a guy from Australia ?!? Neither Charlo nor Tszyu have enough star power for that fight to make more sense than this one. You guys are talking about Charlo like he’s Mayweather and can pick whomever he wants for some hugely successful show. If I’m Charlo, his mom, his manager, his promoter I’m advising him to take this shot. What means more ? Defending belts you already have against a mid-level guy for Pennies ? Or fighting someone who’s going to make you a FBHOF’er , get you 4 new titles and undisputed in a new division ? I have no doubt this show is going to be super successful and I’m going to go out in a limb and say I LIKE CHARLO’S chances here. I’m by no means saying he should be the favorite but I think this is competitive and think he has a good shot at keeping this close.

This is the same Canelo who failed to drop an older worn out GGG right ?

same one coming off a decision against John Ryder, right ?

I like this fight much better than Tszyu and much better than Canelo vs the inactive 160 Charlo. It’s a 3 fight deal. I think Canelo has proven he will (eventually) do the fights fans want. I’d rather Benavidez now for sure, but at least Benavidez is young so when they do finally fight in the next 12-18 months we won’t be saying David is old / washed. I’m surprisingly hype for the Charlo fight to be honest. I could care less about a f**king Tim Tszyu fight period.

This is what's wrong with boxing. Charlo, who has never fought above 154, becomes the person who Canelo CHOOSES to fight? It's, essentially, the wild, wild West. Maybe Inoue will move up and fight Tank. How about Terrence Crawford vs Beterbiev? It doesn't make sense..

We hate this because we’ve now seen this with three middle weight fighters in a row. In the past 12 years, three future champions as the division have spent that time waiting. Sergio Martinez, two years, golovkin 4 years nearly; now Tim waiting two years, likely going on 3. No athlete in any other sport on the planet waits that long for a shot they’ve already earned. Take the money out of the equation which people are using to rationalize this as if somehow that matters, do you honestly think fighters who put their lives on the line fight after fight should continue to be denied their EARNED shot so this ginger fan of clenbuterol can keep rewriting the rules. This is twice now that he’s held up a division for two separate generations of boxers. But somehow that’s ok because Charlo gets a check. He is also fighting a guy who hasn’t fought once in that division, didn’t concede a pound at all, but we are supposed to be cheering this? This is bulllllsshhhh and you know it, any other fighter would be getting destroyed by the boxing public but not ginger, oh of course not ginger. Because there weren’t legitimate threats to him he could’ve actually fought, instead he ran to pbc for easy money. So ffffffk him and anyone justifying this fight, y’all are the reason this sport is as bad and political as it is.

I understand your points and know it's the business off boxing, but ideally Canelo would fight Benavidez and Charlo would fight Tszyu.

Sounds like sour g****s from a whiny baby.... Opportunities don't come often in this life and when offered you have to take them. As far as Canelo, I would rather him fight Benavides, that being said, the Charlo fight is a fight many have been calling for, Canelo offered big brother a shot and big brother said he was fat and out of shape I didn't want it, (so if anyone is a duck it's Jermall who has been offered Canelo multiple times only to turn it down and then say people are ducking him) this sets up a revenge scenario where if Canelo beats little brother I'm assuming Jermall will FINALLY take on Canelo.

Charlo is taking on a bigger challenge than Tszyu. He should be praised. You people need to stop hating. Also I seriously doubt Canelo can knock out Charlo.

Tszyu would have embarrassed Charlo and he knows it.

Lmfao I guess you were celebrating khan fighting Canelo too based on your argument. How about when Danny fought salka. Notice how when Canelo is involved everything suddenly is “ok, cause it’s a challenge.” Foh this dude was fighting a light heavy now taking on a guy who hasn’t ever fought even remotely close to that. Challenge? Lmfao ok, or bigger check for the same end result is what y’all wanna avoid admitting to.

You're an idiot. You can't duck an easier fight.

On what planet is Tim ****in Tszyu a bigger challenge than Canelo Alvarez?
