To be honest, I thought the referee made the right decision. Could he have continued; Probably and perhaps he could? However, he would have needed a knockout in order to win that fight and he is not a knockout puncher.

Therefore, Julian J-Rock Williams as we know him is done as an elite fighter and as a title contender. With this loss he has become officially a gatekeeper status fighter now.

J-Rock was taking a sustained beating and didn’t seem to have a chance to win by the time the fight was stopped. Even my 13 year old was saying the should stop the fight in the previous round….and sorry to say, but Bread soiled himself on national television last night. Leading up to the Plant-Benevidez fight he had cultivated a great image of a seasoned trainer that was in complete control, and in a few short minutes he completely pissed that away and made himself look like an unhinged amateur. And this is coming from a “Breadman” fan who’s been riding with him since the beginning.

I like Breadman but it wasn't a bad stoppage in my opinion. Mark Nelson is a very good ref, I've never felt he's been biased towards a certain fighter or promotion in the past and I thought his decision to stop the fight was reasonable.

I agree with Breadman! Adames was putting it on him, but he couldn't drop J-Rock, and J-Rock was fighting back! He already showed his grit in round 4! That being said, J-Rock needs to retire! He's taken too much punishment during his career!
