Not in a million years, he has never fought a real Welterweight since he moved up to 147, and by the looks of it he will retire without ever facing a real threat at Welterweight, so no.

If he actually fought top welterweights, maybe.

I'm a fan of Floyd and even I can tell you that at Welterweight, he hasn't done nearly enough. If he wants to be remembered as one of the best welterweights then he obviously needs to fight some of the top dawgs and I think he will...he just came back from a two year layoff and fought a single fight. Give the guy a chance.

Now, compared to other hall of fame fighters, does he need a fight with a true established welterweight to be considered one of the best of all time at the division, or is he already one of the best even with the opponents he's faced at 147. Your thoughts gentlemen.
Seeing as how only two of those guys are welters, I think not.

One of the main things to do if you want to be considered a great fighter in a division is to dominate it.

              Floyd simply has not.

I agree not at WW yet. But thats only at WW. If he beats one more established WW then why not. Does the same apply to Pac? I feel the same about both.

No he can't be considered one of the greatest welterweights but he can be considered one of the best boxers ever

IMO he needs to fight Mosley and Cotto before people want to call him a great welterweight.

Sharmba Mitchell (wasn't even that good of a 140 pounder)
                      Zab Judah (good fighter)
Carlos Baldomir (okay fighter but still tough)
Ricky Hatton (a very good 140 pounder)
                      Juan Manuel Marquez (great 126-135er)

So yeah he hasn't really had a BIG BIG BIG welterweight fight where people actually felt like he could legitimately lose. Either way though Mayweather is still an all time great
