NSB says that PBC is what's killing boxing...so why does boxing's biggest current star keep working with them?

Canelo goes to PBC because they have great fights available to him, but PBC has not kept their (very good) roster of fighters active enough. They have stalled the sport and been a huge obstacle to get some big fights made.

Ryan had to spread his cheeks to get the Tank fight and now we're getting the Spence vs Crawford fight at a time they should have closed out a trilogy. However, it's not just PBC, all promoters are the same. Greed is killing the sport.

Having said all that, we've been getting some really good fights this year from PBC, so I'm happy for that and hope this continues and we don't go back to the times where these guys were not fighting eachother.

It's at the point now where less people think that Don King is the cancer. Imagine that
      That's a fair question.

Don King did a lot of terrible things. But when he ran boxing, he never cheated the fans.

He never stacked a PPV undercard with showcase fights of in-house fighters against washed-up, late 30s opponents that were never good in the first place. The way every promoter does today.

PBC cards are dreadful, but so are Golden Boy, Matchroom and Top Rank cards. You compare boxing cards with UFC, whose cards have like 20 fights, nearly all of which are competitive matchups... and it's laughable where boxing is today.

When Dana White said "Promoters in boxing treat every fight like a going out of business sale" he was dead on.

Oh wow he's okay with the Face of Boxing fighting a guy who hasn't fought in more than 2 years. This poster is proud of it.

And he's complaining why fans say Part-time Boxing Camp (PBC) is killing boxing. I'll never know why so-called fans are okay with fighters fighting once a year. And it's rampant in the PBC premises. It's mind-boggling. And they call themselves "fans."

This is why boxing will never elevate to anything other than its current status. Fans are not unified in condemning the malady.

Most PBC fans turn a blind eye on inactivity in boxing. It's like it doesn't exist.
You don't even see them covering it in their youtube channels. It's normal to them.

Crawford, Ryan, Pacquiao, Fury all also willing to work with him recently. Can't be too bad.

But apparently Ryan had to "spread his cheeks". So...did Crawford also have to? Fury?

See, that's what I'm getting at. How is it that certain fighters are happy to work with them and get paid big bank, and other fighters resist doing so?

Seems to me that the problem is the fighter, not the promoter.

Devin Haney seems to be handling his business quite well - what's different about him vs., say, Boots?

So if I read you correctly, you're saying that people should criticize Crawford for fighting Brook and Khan who had long layoffs fresh off of dominant stoppage losses. Right?

Short term money. Why is this so hard? What's good for the pocketbooks of the players involved doesn't have anything to do with what's good for boxing or for fans. If they kill the golden goose, they'll be laughing at you from their private yachts and jets. Most of the promoters are getting old and don't care about the state of boxing when they cash out. They'll happily leave it to Eddie Hearnia and his YouTube side shows when they're done gouging as much money out of the fans as they can.

Can't be that simple. Crawford himself said he's only fighting for the check, legacy be damned, and he was banking easy checks from Bob Arum for the longest, then refused to sign with PBC on two occasions, instead going to BLK Prime, a company with no track record.

There's got to be a reason why fighters at the top of the game (Fury, Canelo, Manny) seem happy to work with PBC but the lower tiers didn't/don't. Maybe...something to do with drawing power? The ability to sell a fight?
