He signed a 3 fight deal. If he doesn't fight Benavidez in one of those, then it's a blatant duck. I think Canelo fights Charlo, Andrade and then Benavidez then retires. and he beats at least the first 2 and I would pick him over DB as well right now but in another year and a half I'm not sure. Canelo been showing signs of slipping for a lil bit now. He's at the end of a great career.

Canelo doesn't care about boxing fans and only about nuthuggers.

The boxing word has finally figured out that's he's just a good boxer with an excellent marketing machine around him..

There's no point fighting Benavidez now, because it doesn't get him out of any obligations that are relevant now. Nothing in your fantasy world changes the rules. This thread is full of people who are saying that it counts as a duck because Benavidez is his mandatory. He's not until the WBC comes up again in the rotation. So there's no reason to fight Benavidez. He doesn't get a belt, he doesn't get acclaim in a new division and he doesn't clear a mandatory obligation.

Your "argument" is some fantasy that belts don't matter, which obviously isn't true for Canelo, and that Canelo doesn't fight his mandatories, except that he's done that twice at 168.

When he moved up, people were criticizing him for not staying in middleweight. Now they're saying middleweight is dead. You haters just love to change your stories, because the truth is that facts don't matter to your pretend narrative.

You can only duck someone if they are a ordered mandatory? lol. I love it how fan boys tailor rules to suit their agenda. A duck is if you avoid the toughest fight that is in front of you for an easier fight, regardless if you are ordered, and that is what Canelo is doing by fighting an inactive middleweight rather than the number 1 ranked contender in his division. Blatant duck.

A Benavidez fight would be the biggest PPV available for Canelo, plus it would add to his legacy to take out a young prime killer something Canelo has never done in his entire career of cherry picky euro bums or old men.

Lastly im pretty sure fighting Benavidez would count as clearing a mandatory since Benavidez is his mandatory just not ordered yet. Anyone with a brain know he is ducking Benavidez and has for a long time. Defending a blatant ducker who refuses to give a young fighter his earned shot and instead giving to an inactive middleweight is disgraceful.

So Benavidez who is the no1 contender who earned the shot has to wait 18months while 2 inactive fighters get the shot ahead of him just to appease Canelo? That is whats wrong with the sport. Nobody wants to see charlo or andrade or anyone other than Canelo Benavidez yet Canelo is zig zagging all over the place, even trying to go after Jack.

He will retire before he gets to benavidez, he is just hoping Benavidez moves to 175 and leaves him alone. Biggest coward I have ever seen in my life.

Charlo is definitely inactive, but Demetrius isn’t inactive. He fought recently this year and most likely will have another fight before the year ends.

You’re making it sound like these would be F level opponents. Charlo merits some criticism, but it’s digestible. Andrade was calling Canelo out years ago, he’s stayed busy and kept winning.

By the way, Rocky Balboa ducked the rubber match with Clubber Lang. He didn’t want any of that smoke.

Well, gee…I hope Benavidez fights Morrell then. Cause if not…

Don't worry, Benavidez is not going to 175 because then he'd have to face Bivol or Beterbiev to be someone instead of a smaller almost washed Canelo so he'll be sticking around 168 even if he looks like a zombie making the weight, waiting for that payday.

Had he chose to rematch Bivol or face Jack at Cruiserweight, I can understand that. The revenge aspect with Bivol and the historical significance of winning a title at Cruiserweight is justifiable. However, there’s one guy we want to see Canelo fight above anyone else at 168 and that’s Benavidez.

Also the ironic thing is I actually think he beats Benavidez. He clearly doesn’t want it though, he isn’t willing to risk losing the Mexican/Latino fanbase.
I think Canelo will lose both of those fights. He might win on the scorecards but he is very low pinch output usually. Either he loses or sqeeks past them

Benavidez is ducking Morrell. Morrell is the 3rd best in the division. It’s already almost guaranteed Canelo is fighting Charlo. So Benavidez needs to fight Morrell who has been calling him out. If he doesn’t fight him this year, then he too will be labeled a coward and a duck.

If you think boxers never fear another man, then you have a romantic view of boxers. They are humans with emotions like anyone else.
Most likely a haymon move as Charlo been sitting on the shelf waiting on this guy..... benavidez a fool to face a killer imo he should be next, if canelo walks away with a victory
