  • Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Jermall Charlo Frontrunner For Alvarez's September Fight, Says Hearn

The carousel of potential opponents continues to spin around the contract negotiations table for Canelo Alvarez. As a rematch against Dmitry Bivol heads in the opposite direction, and days after a potential fight with WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack fell apart apparently due to an Alvarez-mandated 180-pound catchweight and rehydration clause, Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn has added a new opponent option into the mix.

C.A. needs to stick to his own division. There are plenty of tough challengers in SMW. This is not the baren MW. Quit trying to fight one of them.

It's funny how the same people that were saying... "what has Charlo done to deserve Canelo?"

Now those same people are mad saying... "Now you guys are hating Canelo for fighting Charlo"

YES It's annoying because he wants to finally fight him after a 2 ****ing year layoff. He should have fought him when he was busy. So how does Charlo finally deserve a shot after being on a 2 year layoff?!?!

Honestly dont think charlo having canelo as his comeback fight would do any good for him but at least he wouldn't have to cut that much weight fighting at 168 cause lets be honest he looks massive I dont even think he can do 160 w/out looking like a zombie now.

Actually there is better match-ups for mall at smw being with PBC ,middleweight has not been the same lately.

That's a very tough fight for Charlo, and some of the shine has been taken off this fight.

It was one of the biggest fights, maybe top three in all of boxing, about two years ago.

Having said that, in terms of excitement, it's probably better than a Bivol-Canelo rematch.

Talk, talk, talk. Charlos, both of them are gone missing. Forget them, who's next?

First tried to dehydrate Badou Jack. Now fighting a guy who has not fought in 2 years. Anything to duck Benavidez. And I consider Canelo a better fighter than Benavidez.
