I don't care for a Munguia fight at all. It does good business most likely but it's not one I am hyped for.

Morrell would be an amazing fight but last I recall Shields was a little apprehensive to put Morrell in that fight this early in his career. I can understand that position from his view as the coach when you see how potential Morrell has.

Benavidez is in a bit of a tough spot here though because he literally has a shot at all the titles within reach. I would suggest fights with the other top contenders but outside of Morrell (his team has to be on board as well) I think all the other contenders are still hesitant to fight Benavidez because he doesn't have the titles. Anyway you slice it Benavidez is the favorite on the odds with pretty anyone you match him against at 168.

That begs the question of why not fight at 175. I'm sure he would (easier to make the weight) if that shot at Canelo for all the belts was not right there waiting and the fact that it would be a huge fight business wise. Once he moves up I don't think he would be able to come back down in weight.

All that said I am thinking a Munguia level fighter at 168 is who he fights to serve as a stay busy fight to stay active. Similar to the Tszyu-Ocampo fight last week. I don't care for it fight wise but I understand it if the Canelo fight is next. Of course I would rather have the Canelo-Benavidez fight next but it's not looking like it.

For David Benavidez to fight David Morrell now would not only be foolish but impractical as well. Benavidez is the mandatory challenger for Canelo's WBC Super middleweight title. A lost to Morrell; A very risky opponent would set him back. Either Canelo challenge David next year for that title or he vacates it.

I see some people are still expecting Benavidez to fight Bivol or Beterbiev. Guys, come on. This is David Benavidez we're talking about. David can't fight Bivol or Beterbiev. That is suicide for David. He should let his cruiserweight ass stay at 168 and have physical advantages against 160-pounders. David doesn't take risks. Leave David alone!

I feel bad for fighters like Morrell Jr., and Subriel Matias! The BROTHERS can fight, but they don't have the fanbases like Munguia, Canelo, Ryan Garcia, Tank, Fury, etc., so it makes it real easy to swerve them!

You and your father and your brother talk mad smack but your all FOS, that's why you didn't and are getting Canelo either.
Benevidez and Morrell both with Pbc, both holding bullschit versions of "world titles" and looking to fight Canelo for the real titles. Why not fight each other and unify" the bullschit belts? Seems logical and easy to put together. Winner will definitely deserve, and almost get, mandatory status. Except doesn't sound like benevidez wants it?

                    How to chase Greatness:
                    1. Receive an offer from the guy that boxing fans want to see you fight for $45mil, and ignore it.
                    2. Ask about fighting a guy who hasn't fought in two years from a lower division who was never that good in the first place.

Canelo's career at this point is pitiful. He's made himself into a total embarrassment. Probably time to just cut his losses and start doing exhibitions on Floyd's next card. Or maybe he could chase greatness by breaking down social barriers and fighting a female boxer next? Clarissa Shields would probably toast him though.

Morrell has not even fought a top 10 guy and wants a shot at an eliminator for undisputed? That is total BS. Its a great match up but there still needs to be some merit in boxing and earning a shot.
