I don't see why Arum can't do business with Golden Boy...unless him and Oscar still have a problem...

They also made the mistake of overpaying some of these prospects as well...

If GBP knows there fighters can get on HBO and make big money and get exposure there gonna go for it...

And if Bob Arum cared about good matchups he wouldn't be putting Chavez Jr in there wit nobody after nobody building him a padded record...
With all die respect this is more about HBO. HBO is not a promotional company yet is acting like one. They should demand the best match ups no questions asked.

So? I don't need to watch him fight chumps on HBO while he's on the way up.

maybe but they would have never allowed Hylon Williams to get a 6 figure bonus like GBP would

i hope he gets fired especially cause he's a berto-nuthugger

No you don't...but unless HBO puts there foot down you don't have a choice...

What was Arum and other promoters doing when GBP took over the show? Sleeping?

"The Golden Boy output deal (which runs through 2011) is a millstone around HBO’s neck."

            I wasn't aware of this...so HBO is Golden Boy's ***** until 2011...

That is what I am screaming. The TV dates should be saved for fighters fighting fighters of like ability. The building block fights should happen in the clubs and off camera.

No, GBP used the power of Oscar's fights to pin HBO down and make them commit. Greenberg was scared to death he was going to miss out on an Oscar fight so he bit.

Well if Golden Boy can get on HBO they will...

They shouldn't be securing date after date for GBP tho...

Is Arum trying to get certain fights on HBO? We know he has no problem getting Pac on there...

What quality fights is he making that should be on HBO? Everytime I think of a Top Rank PPV I think of Chavez Jr fighting some nobody...or Arce getting beat up by some young guy...

Arum's two best fighters are on HBO...

But yes as far as the article prospects should fight where prospects fight..

I am not defending Arum. I am condemning HBO. If HBO demanded A list vs. A list fights and held out until the promoters gave in...they would get them.

Exactly. Maybe HBO should change? Maybe that's the point of the article?
