  • Comments Thread For: Bill Haney: "There's a Warrant Out For Regis Prograis, Devin Will Be Serving It Soon"

Devin Haney loves the sport of boxing. From spending countless hours in training camp to performing on fight night, Haney enjoys it all. One part, however, that he doesn't appreciate, is making the 135-pound lightweight limit. As he's gotten older, squeezing down his ever-growing frame has become more and more arduous. But the name of the game is sacrifices and Haney was willing to do that until he reached his ultimate goal.

No matter how ho-hum Regis looked in this last fight, Bill Haney won't put Devin in the ring with him. Devin's inability to stop the lead left in the Loma fight had him puzzled and only won the fight by a sliver. If Prograis connects with those, which is a good possibility from the southpaw, its sleepy time.

I think Prograis just had a ton of problems against a boxer, who isn’t anywhere near as slick or all around good as Haney. I think they like the Prograis-Haney matchup and want it for good reason.

Plus, one could now argue that Prograis’ loss against Taylor hasn’t aged very well.

Better to fight Regis, than to squeeze down to 135, and get KO'd by Tank!

They could think that, and I 'm sure that Regis would love it if they do, so he can beat the stuffing out of him, and shake off the feeling of not looking good in his last fight. That would do much more for Prograis than knocking out Zorrilla.

How could you argue Prograis loss to Taylor hasn't aged well? Taylor was an undisputed champion with numerous credible wins on his resume just because he's know hit a rough spot shouldn't impact a loss, which happened almost four year's ago.

I agree, Zorrilla is no where near the boxer of Haney but is Haney going to employ the same negative tactics? Highly unlikely.

Yes, Prograis is the "easy route". Trash contributions to this site so far, bud.

Styles make fights and this is a smart move by the Haney's. The fact that Bill was already there waiting to call him out was beautiful. With Teo gone Regis could have been considered the best at 140 so yet again Devin runs toward the smoke. Rumble, young man, Rumble!!!
