I don't understand why there was such a fuss about the share for the rematch, when they couldn't even really agree on one fight.

It's probably the 70-30 split that annoyed the Usyk camp, even if they didn't say so. Usyk is a class act though.

Usyk's team offered Joyce 7%. So they're no strangers to doing similar things themselves.

The reality is this fight was never happening in the UK, the money isn't there. Fury might have been difficult negotiating but it was Egis from Usyk's team that pulled out of the negotiation.

Regardless of what the fighters say, I think both teams will be happy the fight is heading for Saudi instead, everyone wants that Saudi money, which is why Usyk just signed with the company over there.

Well by that theory, Fury should rightly demand a much bigger percentage, considering his purse bids have been over £30m and Usyk's was £8m.

If Usyk wanted to use that tactic for a potential Joyce fight then they shouldn't complain about Fury doing it. It's pretty much proven with the purse bids that 70/30 was pretty fair.

Fury made £30million from his last fight because the guy in the other corner was Dillian Whyte and the WBC had mandated Fury 80% of the purse.

Fury vs Whyte was a fight that UK fans had been itching to see for years and the purse bid had the UK's 2 most powerful promoters - Queensbury and Matchroom - bidding against each other. Context matters.

And while were talking about Fury vs Whyte - the WBC set the 80/20 purse split for that fight by looking at how much each guy made in his previous fight. And Fury's team were more than happy with that. So, using that same approach for Usyk vs Fury, Usyk should get the lions share of the split because he made around $50million from his last fight and Fury only made around 40million.
