The gloves makes a world of difference. Anyone who has followed boxing knows this. That's why there are huge arguments over gloves in every fight contract nowadays. It's why Oscar makes his opponents wear certain gloves like he did with Mayweather. The gloves matter.
Or because he was drained and started feeling more of the effects of getting drained and could take punches better in two fights before?

to simply say it was the gloves is an insult to pacquiao
u think gloves can take away all his skill n power?
      ur an idiot

to me the difference between thier 1st n 2nd fights had many key factors

in the 1st morales boxed and used pressure in spots
in the 1st manny pretty much just wanted to come forward
in the 1st morales soul purpose was to handle pacquiao the man whod battered barrera in his eyes beaten him was beaten mab
in the 1st altho he won it morales absorbed a tremendous amount of punishment especiallly in the last rounds were morales seemed to invited and demand punch traden
i think those last rounds really took alot out of him very much made apparent in his next fight

in the 2nd morales said in many interviews he was goin for the KO
he felt hed handled pacs power at the end of the last fight and that he would be able to go KO PAC
in the 2nd morales was pretty much just wantin to come forward
in the 2nd pac tryed to box pic spots and use pressure
in the 2nd pac had greatly learned and improved from being handled in the 1st fight

THAT 1st fight really helped pac improve immensely
he learned his pure physical strength wouldnt always be enough

No penis. You're only saying that because he lost. Morales was still good when he faced Pacquiao in their rematch. Barrera was 29 when Pacquiao beat him the first time. Pacquiao is nearly 31--who's had wars with Morales, Barrera, Marquez. I guess he's a shot fighter too. Stop making excuses.

im pretty sure if pac wins against cotto...cotto becomes pathetic, weight drained, old, mentally unstable, schizophrenic, delusional, obsessive compulsive....wait what?
          That's ridiculous...

DLH was shot to **** and weight drained. TRUTH.

Hatton has been on the downslide since his fight with Collazo, but I do think Pacquiao should get an enormous amount of credit for ripping Hatton to shreds.

Morales obviously was shot... he got shut out by Zahir Raheem FFS.

Barrera was past it in the rematch, but the win the first time they fought was one of the best wins of the last 20 years... that featherweight Barrera was about as highly regarded as a fighter could be.

David Diaz is, and has always been, mediocre.

Anyway, to the thread starter... the key to Morales beating Pacquiao was that Pacquiao was not very good back then. You can make the argument that Morales was shot when Pacquiao beat him, but I would also make the argument that Pacquiao was green. I'd definitely favor prime Pacquiao over any version of any fighter that he has fought.

The way Pacquiao fights now is completely different and much better than how he fought in 2005.

Morales skills..... dont even try and use the gloves issue because it wasnt that, the only reason why Morales kept losing was all because of weight issues... he looked like a skeleton at the weigh-ins...

first Morales fight was Pac's debut at 130

if you were in Pac's shoes, would you agree to a rematch again by jumpin another division in favor of him?

Floyd said it best "he was out boxed" Morales controlled the whole bout and used boxing skills and his will to win and it produced a W. he also neutralized the left hand like marquez did as well. Marquez was masterful with adjusting his style to get a Draw and a SD in fights where he was floored four times, that says something about pac's boxing skills to me. He can win if his man is willing to walk in, if his man wants to box Pac is gonna have problems.
