Have you seen Morrel Jr fight? He just recently iced a 2012 Olympic bronze medallist in 1 round and left a highly rated, undefeated Kazakh contender with 11 KO's from 16 fights in a coma... Morrel's style is all wrong for Canelo - ginger is in the midst of a very noticeable decline, it would be 3 times the beating Canelo received from Lara. Canelo is just way too slow to hang with Morrel... experience doesn't come into it.

Canelo is more experienced and is regarded higher no doubt. Morrell just looks like he would make things very difficult for Canelo with his power and style.

They all deserved a shot more than John Ryder did.

Ryder did his job beating Zach Parker. he is a legit top 10 super middleweight. Charlo has zero fights at 168.

This is professional boxing not the amateurs ,morrell hasnt beat no worthwhile name in the pros yet,if you think that dude he slept in 1 round is a good measure stick to really evaluate and compare his level of skill and performance against someone as experienced as and a real p4p fighter like canelo is well im sorry my dude but YDSAB.

I recall some of you fellas predicting benavidez would stop plant in 8 rounds or less Lol ,he got outboxed first half of fight and if it wasn't for Calebs tendency of fading and gassing out in the later rounds David would've lost that one possibly. Even still some here claim Benny will stop Canelo who hits way harder than plant and is blessed with a bronze chin. Cant wait for that one to happen soon, see if DB reallys lives up to the hype against the champ.

He hasn't signed anything for a Morrell fight, he has a 3 fight contract with Showtime, which he stated that if Canelo won't fight him, then he could fill in those fights with Morrell, Andrade, and Charlo. Cinnabon needs to stop ducking the man, he's been his mandatory for the last 3 fights, and way before Ryder was even in position.

He's been signed for Morrell for months, even before they sent the offer to Canelo, as per his promoter and his father ... Not sure what you're on about.

And yet Ryder put in the time and the fights to earn the mandatory shot. I don't make the rules, but those clowns can't even be bothered to make the fights to earn the position even when there's guys like Ryder that are managing it. If you're going to look down on Ryder, you should be even more critical of the jokers that can't even earn a shot like he did. But that would require them to actually fight. If you think they "deserve" a shot more than the guys who at least earned a mandatory shot by taking fights, you're as delusional as they are. The one who earned his shot is Benavidez, and Morrell jr to a much lesser extent.

Bs, ryder ran away from Morell jr, he was supposed to fight him for the WBA #1 spot. If he was to beat the Cuban he would have become canelo's mandatory. He took a plane to UK the same night he saw Morrell Jr knock out caseres, hearns said that ryder would move up to lhw to face bivol. Next he was fighting Zach and then jacobs. So no, he didn't deserve nor earn the fight, he weasel his way to the shot and avoided DMJ, so please stop with this earn and deserving, he was chosen because he was a weak and beatable option. Earn and deserving has nothing to do with it.

Again, Morrell, Andrade and Charlo are the options if Canelo won't fight him. Those are the names that are on the Showtime roster, of course, those are the names that can be contractually easy to make. Morrell, Andrade, nor Charlo have signed to fight, but it definitely could happen. Benavidez 's first choice would be Cinnabon, but he's not waiting, nor should he, when he has lucrative options.

Because you guys are high on ranked fighters and he is the WBA #1 and mandatory for canelo's. And yes he has only 9 fights, look a the combined record of those boxers, 160W 19L, three undefeated fighters included. I have ask this question before, to persons like you that have dismissed his ranking because his record, I got no reply back, can you find another SMW boxer that has a similar record in his first 9 fight? Past or present.
