Why can some boxers take body shots better than others ?

Is it because of their defensive or more muscles or more fat

Some people are different from other people. In fact most are.

Might be because some fighters are better than others at identifying when a body shot is coming and embracing for it by hardening their mid section. If you notice, bodyshot KD’s/KO’s come from punches the fighter doesn’t see coming.

Most guys that get hurt to the body are:
        1. hit when they're not looking/breathing out/not tensed up
        or
        2. out of shape so they fatigue faster
        or
        3. weak in their core muscle groups

Or some combination of the three.
