canelo should just offer bivol an improved offer to fight at 175 and see if he takes it, he says he wont accept the same terms as first fight which is fair enough as he won that fight lol

Yes he had the close fight with Ryder but Smith was the boogeyman no one wanted to face him being 6'3 powerful with some skill...canelo did and beat him easily.
quoting some hype clown like max kellerman? smith had a razor slim resume with 1 notable win over a good but not great fighter who was at the end of his career. he also had just lost to ryder in a very bad decision. people had written him off when canelo actually faced him.
Resumes can always be broken down and if we compare most current guys resumes like Crawfords to canelo it's laughable how weak buds resume is.Last edited by Regge; 06-16-2023, 02:30 PM.Comment

Problem is bivol doesn't want to risk anything he wants 68 so if he looses he still has his belt and can use the weight as en excuse that's obvious.Comment

who ducked him? there werent any good figthers in the divison at the time. it was dead. groves who was second tier in the previous era being unable to beat guys like froch/badou jack vs smith who had never beaten a top 10 fighter decided the king of the division. thats pretty weak stuff. smith was not some ggg/beterbiev type of fighter. he was just a guy who had proven very little and still to this day has proven very little. kambosos for example has a much better resume than callum smith but no one calls him a boogeyman and no one did cause the competition was fierce in his division and he didnt have any hype like callum smith. the difference is just perceptionYes he had the close fight with Ryder but Smith was the boogeyman no one wanted to face him being 6'3 powerful with some skill...canelo did and beat him easily.

"Everybody knows we want Bivol, the rematch with Bivol. If the fight with Bivol don’t happen, then we’ll see [about fighting someone else]. I’m able to fight everybody. Yeah, [I want it at] 175.... same rules, same terms, same everything. I just want it that way," Canelo said.
Sounds like its take it or leave it to me, not the way to negotiate a rematch i dont thinkComment

It seems to me that Canelo fanboys don't want to see him lose. Which is why they don't want him to fight David Benavidez.Comment

There's always a ready made excuseSome of them even suggested that 40 year old Golovkin and John Ryder weren't the toughest fights available to him. They are insane.
You know if he fights Charlo, they will come up with crazy excuses like 'he's moving up in weight and has been inactive for 2 years' and 'why didn't he fight Benavidez instead?'.
If he wins Charlo, Charlo is inactive and fought nobody
If he wins Benavidez, Benavidez is too big for 168 and needs to move up
if he wins Bivol at 168, it would be Bivol was drainedComment

What's the issue again? It seems Canelo doesn't want to fight Benavidez, that's just the truth and some of you are acting like we're attacking Canelo.
See that's the issue canelo has been hated on way before Benavidez was even a contender.
It's just flat out hate I remember when everyone including max Kellerman said " no way Canelo ever faced huge 6'3 undefeated Callum Smith" who was the boogeyman at 168 well before Benavidez then canelo whoops him and excuses poured in.
Same ****t different toilet with you clowns.
Canelo has fought some very good fighters. He's an ATG, first ballot future HOF fighter and a cash cow. He fought Trout, Lara, Jacobs and Callum Smith when all were considered dangerous fights for him to take. Heck, I even think Saunders and Plant were excellent wins! But he also did some funny business (as explained in my previous post) for the GGG fights, Kovalev (a brilliant cherry pick, definitely no hate from me), and seemingly now he doesn't want to fight Benavidez.
Again, this is not hating its just calling things as they are/seem. Some people can deal with it and others apparently can't.Comment

If Canelo chooses to fight Charlo, I think he’s evidently avoiding Benavidez. Not that he’s scared of him but he’s scared of losing to him and losing a share of the Mexican/Latino fanbase. If you’re gonna work with PBC, Benavidez is the obvious choice.
If he chooses to rematch Bivol instead, I’m cool with that, not majorly interested in seeing the rematch as I can’t see the result being different but I can respect a fighter trying take an L back.Comment
