This is no defensive guru who is suddenly going to change that. Watch boxing long enough and you realize guys like Mungia don’t last long without selective opponent matching, and he’s only now starting to step up in class and already has a ton of mileage and damage to his body and brain.
Well you make a solid point. He does get hit a lot. Now, when I think about it. It doesn't sound like such a bad idea running it back with Sergiy because where would he go?

The 168 lbs weight division is loaded with talent. If he steps up his level of opposition against either David Benavidez, David Morrell or even Caleb Plant he won't stand a chance; Just because of all of the things you've mentioned in your post.

Mungia and his fans or fans of other boxers who want their guy to take the scalp need to stfu and sit down. This should be ran back, no if’s, or buts about it.
That's true, no mention of how some judges could have scored that 5th a 2 point rd just like there's no mention of how some refs could have counted a 2nd kd when Derevyenchenko tackled Munguia on his way down again in the 12th. Very close and explosive fight with a fair decision...

Thank you, Jaime developed a decent hook but his is loaded and slow, he can be hooked on while he tries, chenko was the smaller man and still got them in pretty good, another thing I spotted it Jaime doesn’t guard well against the jab when it’s a power jab he is super susceptible to an overhand punch behind the power jab as he tries to lean back away from the jab, if y’all rewatch you’ll notice chenko pick up on it and try but couldn’t land the straight right hand because he didn’t have the reach for it. Personally I’m of the opinion Mungia already hit his ceiling much like the case with Hurd, tons of heart but the lack of defensive skills gets him taken out just like Hurd was. Hell it almost just happened in his last fight and I think if they rematch he gets starched.

Munguia is garbage. They can only protect him for so long. Dude had advantages in Height Size Reach and Age and still almost got his @ss beat. He won't have a chance beating ANY of the top Super Middleweights and ABSOLUTELY won't have chance at Light Heavy which his frame is more suited for. No matter what they do, Munguia just doesn't have the necessary skills. FACTS!!!

I though i was the only one who saw that round as a legit 10-8 round even with out a knock down!!

I think they should run it back, but I see Munguia winning more widely moreso because even though Munguia has taken more punishments in his fights, he is younger.

Hope they man up and give this man an instant rematch because he got robbed and they know it, so the right thing to do is a rematch, and that 5th round was a 10-8 round on any other judge not pay by Delahoya

Other than the knockdown in the last round it was a near shut out for Derev.
