If you have a business, it's easier to hide money from your ex's attorneys.

It's very sad that Tayo is allowing his envy and hatred of black fighters to force him into retirement. If he wants what these black fighters have then he can start by challenging and defeating the Regis Prograis', Devin Haney's and the Shakur Stevenson's of the world. To date; He has ducked all of the top American fighters in and around his weight class in order to fight Euros.

good for him I hope she gets peanuts trying to take money he earned by training and risking his life in the ring tell that btch to get a job
Not sure how NY state works, but in most states asset division is assessed by the 'date of separation' which is generally well before the actual divorce date. If Teo has been living apart from his wife since before his son was born, then she should not have any legal claim to earnings made after the separation date.

Interesting spin. Teofimo fought the consensus best LW in the world to become the top LW in the world. This weekend he beat the top JWW in the world to do the same. You are yet another black American guy who injects race into everytihing. Nobody is avoiding black American fighters except other black American fighters.

I didn't think about that. It's a smart move, as long as his ex-wife's lawyers don't get the judge to attach his future earnings. His lawyers will have to fight any such motion.

lets see what teos idea about boxing could be hhhmm, rename the HOF after him and his achievements, create a belt in his likeness, invoke his name with the likes of ali srr etc, pay him huge sums of cash per fight & top it off with a 12 foot statue close to the the garden in NY as a mark of respect, thats just for starters

I'm in the UK nice to know how the system works over there. Here separation date doesn't matter you split half the assets of everything you own (unless you got a good lawyer who can bargain for you to keep some assets)

Divorce settlement could include stipulations about future earnings, but due to the short length of their marriage it probably won't. There is the matter of child support though and that amount is not static as it will increase as his earnings increase.

It's Teo that brought the subject up, he said that the black fighters are getting treated much better than he is. Malignaggi got fired for something similar. I think Teo brings most of the haters on himself, by saying and acting ******. But, it's boxing so no matter what he does, people will hate for no reason. Me, I want to like him and sometimes I do, but he always says/does something to ruin it just as quickly.
