I know you hate Carl, Kris, but let's not get **** twisted just for the hell of it.
I've not been minding him lately actually, and have spoken positively about him a few times. But I'm sorry his arrogant and statesmen like ways are just too much too bear. We can't like everyone and I hardly think I'm hating for the sake of it without backing it up. It's not a thread start of hate its based on new material I'm seeing. The pauze and staring round that small conference room as if he was a king did not come across light hearted or amusing, it was completely ridiculous.

As was saying he wants to assert his legacy with the likes of Mayweather and Jones. Explain to me exactly how a 32 year old whom only awhile ago won a vacant belt, and then nearly lost in his first defence, is going to go on to be on the legacy and p4p level of what Roy Jones was or Mayweather is? Even Mikkel's not in the top 10 and he's the consensus best SMW over Froch. Mikkel nor many say crazy out there **** like this. Haye says some **** but not that wacky and also with more of a tongue in cheek messing around way. Froch does not and it's cringing I'm afraid.

He comes out to a small press conference as if it's a stadium, with his manager screaming his name out, stood below his own poster and pauzes arrogantly looking around like some kind of statesmen.

Then in the interview he says it's not just about proving himself more as a champion but also in the pound for pound ranks as being up there with the best ever, Mayweather and Roy Jones.

Are you fucking with us, for real?

What a deluded arrogant moron, sheesh.
I understand where you are coming from, as even I said "WTF" to myself. He talks about Dirrell being a talker, but so is he; this is the guy who said he's a "superstar" in Britain and NYC presser.

I think he's just trying to hype the fight. I think he's realized he isn't as popular as he thinks. He probably thought someone would jump on to pick up his fights, but from what I've read on this and other forums, not many Brits know about Froch-Dirrell.

Where did he state the bold? Really? I interpreted his comment to mean it would be a huge honor and a dream to occupy a spot in the pound for pound listings where names like Mayweather and Jones Jr. had sat previously...at some point (possibly if he could win this tourney).

And why not dream big? Boxing is about dreams. Usually shattered ones, but dreams are dreams are dreams. Hell, life itself is only a dream that already ended. And we know that the ring is a metaphor for life. May the (squared) circle be unbroken.

You, my man, take Carl's mannerisms and words way, way, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too seriously.

The Cobra is a gift to boxing. If his win-streak continues, rest assured, that gift will keep on giving.

Godbless Carl Froch, long may he run.

Dude I'm well aware that one can view something less favourably for a fighter they don't much like, but also more favourably for a one they do.

We my man, are at opposite ends of the spectrum there where Froch, and Calzaghe are concerned.

That's cool with me. I'm sorry though, you cannot say that most fighters whom have not long won a vacant belt then one defence mention and seriously, getting to the level of Roy Jones and Floyd Mayweather.

            How can he suddenly do that when;

            -He's 32
-Not that far from the latter ends of his career?
-There's no p4p guys in his division or that he's likely to face.
-Any that he could i.e Hopkins he'd be steep underdog.
-Guys like Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones had achieved so much more with undeniable talent from an early age?
-He's not even favoured the best in his division.

It just doesn't sit right dude, ok. It just doesn't, and others have said as much and not in a pointless slagging way, so just accept that not all people see it your way. Sure he can dream, but if he meant it like you thought he coulda made that clear. He didn't, and doesn't a lot of the time. It's not a leap to suggest Froch really does think he's way way bigger than he is with a pick of just some of his quotes which are not I'm afraid so common of someone in his position.

As long as he does interviews with his famous catchphrases.

It's the reason I haven't liked his latest ones.

Froch won a 'vacant' belt because the title holder at the time(Calzaghe) didn't want to fight him and vacated the belt.

                Carry on.

Chunk - So? Whatever the reason that's what happened.

Had that not have happened and instead faced said man he wouldn't have won it at all which the vast majority agree on. So how the scenario that happened was somehow unfavourable, is unclear.

Calzaghe ditched that belt to fight Hopkins and move to light heavy because he couldn't really make 168lbs any longer without punishing his body. He was wise to do so. Had Calzaghe beaten Froch before he was a world champ, he would get little credit for it. So what was the point of fighting Froch?
