Yeah, I agree - that's not a good comparison at all. "If Pea can do it, so can Floyd." Uhh...no.

Yeah, I probably gave mayweather too much credit. I could see the first half of the fight goin similar, and instead of floyd evading like sweet pea just holding. Then JCC imposing him self at floyd on the ropes during the second half. Or vise versa

I think Floyd would have a tough time trying to tie JCC up,as he was a brilliant inside fighter.

Also, Sweet Pea really surprised people with his inside fighting ability against Chavez. Floyd couldn't outfight Castillo inside, he wouldn't do it against Chavez.
More elusive than Floyd? I think Floyd moves backwards better than Pea did. Also why do people like to forget that Floyd was injured against Castillo in the first fight is beyond me.

I disagree. Given how Pea boxed backwards incredibly well against better opposition, I don't see how any other conclusion could be reached.

When I say moves better backwards, I was purely talking footspeed, I wasnt talking literally boxing better while moving backwards. Just from my eyes on footspeed alone to me it seems Floyd could move backwards faster, not that that insures victory or anything.

Floyd and Whitaker did not fight similiarly, contrary to popular belief. their styles were a lot different, even if their strategies were somewhat alike.

Floyd had a hard time in BOTH Castillo fights...Chavez is a better version of Castillo, who was Chavezs' sparring partner for a while.

it would be a close fight.

Yeah, why do people think Floyd and Sweet Pea are similar? Just because they are comparable as far as defensive skill? Sweet Pea fought with hands down using speed and reflexes to slip punches. Floyd is much more technical defensively.

What black irish said. Strategies are similar not styles, and they're probably two of the best defensive fighters in recent memory

Umm...ok lol. Foot speed...well, getting back to who boxes better backwards I think it's safe to say it's Pea, who spent much of his career on his back foot.
