Linares is no Tank and hasn't anywhere near the same ring I.Q or anything
Good athlete, fast hands but he is not technically sound and doesn't possess much of a ring I.Q at all really.

Kevin Mitchell dropped him with a left hook
Zaur dropped him twice and eventually out with left hooks
    Salgado same story
Cano dropped him with a left hook and couldn't miss with them

Not too mention all the ones I've forgotten or don't know about and the countless other times he has been dropped and stopped in embarrassing fashion.

He has lost 5 of his last 8 and not beaten anyone even remotely notable in over 5 yrs.

Tbh he might be the most overrated fighter not just out there but in the sports history.
He has stepped up 8 times, lost all 8 with about half coming to mediocre opposition at best who flattened him in seconds. His best wins are like Luke Campbell & Crolla who he had all sorts of issues with.

He's never been at that level let alone these days where he is totally shot.
I'd not be against Ryan taking a sort of soft touch at 140 but I don't think they should even sanction this fight. Ryan would badly flatten Linares who simply ought to retire before he really gets hurt.

Linares is in theory dangerous but very long in the tooth and has lost three in a row. At 140 I would comfortably pick Garcia.

Yeah, but what about Pacquiao @ 144?
