I appreciate Weeks speaking out on this. I hope the WBA, promoters and the network do the right thing and make the rematch happen.

Ref Tony Weeks did not make the right call and neither did Ref Richard Steele make Right call In Chavez-Taylor Fight.
With 25 seconds to go on St. Patrick's Day 1990, Meldrick Taylor looked like the winner.
He'd outboxed, outpunched and outfought Julio Cesar Chavez for 11 rounds, two minutes and 35 seconds.
Looked like the 'fix' was in then, just as it looks like the 'fix' was in now.

Weak excuse, you cannot premedidate those calls, both came in healthy and should be given 100% of their chance to win the fight. "Oh I didn't see it I thought they were landing" so what's gonna stop you from making an incompetent stoppage in the near future again? With his experience I doubt that's close to being true.

Everybody who doesnt know how pro sports work needs to watch that netflix or prime documentary about the corrupt nba ref who got caught.

FAAAWK WEEKS!!! So incompetent...."Now, looking at it on the replay, of course I don't have at the time the advantage of slow motion replay, five different angles,” Weeks continued. “If I had been in that position I wouldn't have stopped the fight"
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has reportedly approved the use of instant video replay technology as an effective tool in the determination of lapses in boxing officiating. Since 2011!!! It should be a no contest and a rematch put in place.

The referee shouldn't be thinking about the age. The NSAC had already done their medical checks and decided that Barroso was fit and healthy enough to fight. So then the ref decision DURING the fight is "is he hurt badly/can he defend himself" thats it - nothing to do with this guyy is 40 and can't take a punch like a 20 year old.
