Thanks for this guys, interesting to see your thoughts.

I have added up the position and divided it by the number of posts to give the following results (boxers not on a list I gave a fixed 11th place to).

So it reads (with average position in brackets):

    1 Ali (1.00)
    2 Louis (2.25)
    =3 Holmes (4.00)
    =3 Lewis (4.00)
    5 Foreman (6.25)
    6 Frazier (7.00)
    7 Marciano (7.50)
    8 Dempsey (7.75)
    9 Liston (8.50)
    10 Holyfield (9.00)

Interesting to note that no Klitsckos made any of the the lists, especially with all the talk in forums at the moment. Anyway, I shall use these results for the article.

    Thanks again

            Ditto.

Not in that order but I'd have those 10.

Can't understand the Tyson mania. I mean, guys like Ali & Frazier & Foreman and even Holyfield have a stack of victories against TOP fighters backing them up. Who did Tyson beat - prime, or very close to prime - that gets anywhere near being a top 10 HW? Who?

Ratliffe? Ribalta? Biggs? Carl Williams? It's tomato can city. His first defeat was at the hands of the first bum who realised that once you saw through the Tyson hype machine there was a terrified young man with a lot of psychological issues looking back. Easy meat.

Tyson fought two top heavies. He was beaten senseless twice and was disqualified in the other. He shouldn't be anywhere near top 30, let alone 10.

I never made a top 10 list so I'm not sure where I would put Tyson. I think he has become overrated and underrated. Longer discussion on that and maybe I'll go through it later.

Quick note: "Bum"...so Douglas was a bum now? Same Douglas who beat Oliver McCall, the man that knocked out Lennox Lewis?

A lot goes into fighting and you have to be at your best to perfrom well. Both Tyson and Douglas proved that point which is why it makes a good story. Tyson was a considered a "small" HW in a Big HW era.
