Prograis would probably beat the dog **** out of Haney. If he's making it known publicly that he's been talking to Hearn then Haney might be trying to drive up his price as a free agent.
Haney reaching out to Hearn abought fighting Prograis!

Is Matias actually good? What’s a matchup between this guy vs Prograis, Taylor/Lopez, Haney likely to look like?I like the match-up, but I'd prefer Haney go after Matias. Prograis is definitely battle-tested, but Matias is the one nobody truly wants to face. Matias doesn't cost a lot, and the match-up would be easy to market. Does the IBF allow a champion to relinquish one title in order to get a shot at a higher weight?Comment

Haney will get a bad beating at 140.
He is just not very good, that is why is he killing himself to fight smaller guys still.Comment

Depends on how Eddie Hearn sees the fight. Meaning, if he thinks Prograis, who he successfully convinced to sign with him, wins the fight, then I don't see any reason why Hearn avoids the fight. Bear in mind that this is the same promoter who fed Conor Benn endless list of washed up fighters. Meaning, again, Prograis would have to go through what Hearn did to Benn.
Ball sits squarely on Eddie Hearn's lap.Comment

140 is a murderer's' row.
Taylor, Catteral, Russell, Matias, Prograis, Zepeda, Ramirez and even Lopez if he can get his head on straight again.
If Haney has what it takes to swim in that pond, he's somewhat better than I've given him credit for.Comment

Suppose I should watch a fight of his.
Haney’s just finding out what Hearn and co have to offer, he still has to go in other directions to compare the prices vs the risks. This is a gauge. There’s no ball yet. As undisputed he can force the Teo-Lopez winner to fight him, and that would be a bigger money fight more than likely. He’ll also look to see if he can make a fight vs Tank.Depends on how Eddie Hearn sees the fight. Depends on various factors. Sometimes it's not about the money. It's about feeling at home for others. Haney would rather be with Hearn than with any other promoter. Time can also be factored in, and it would seem Haney wants to keep himself busy and not have to wait for long periods of time. And he probably thinks he can beat Prograis.Haney's just finding out what Hearn and co have to offer, he still has to go in other directions to compare the prices vs the risks. This is a gauge. It's all up to Hearn, nobody else.
