May vs Pac was the biggest commercial welterweight contest ever. However, technically, scientifically and athletically this has to rank up there between Leonard/Hearns. Both guys are champions, in their primes and undefeated. It’s a very intriguing match up.

Every thing that he is saying now, just falls flat.
What he had been saying all along was that, "The Crawford fight is not going to happen until I'm ready", so in that sense, he's a man of his word.
He said that the Crawford fight could not be made because he was with Bob Arum and Top Rank, but when Bud left, then it was another excuse, after excuse.
He tried to wait Crawford out, so that maybe he'd lose to some other fighter, that did not happen.
He tried to pick Crawford's pocket, by getting him to basically fight for pennies, with (Puppet) Al Hayman's PBC, (HNIC) Floyd Mayweather Promotions, but that didn't work.

He has no credibility and no class, and even now, who ever thinks that this bout will take place on July 29, really just needs to look at his, and the track record of Al Hayman PBC, and Floyd Mayweather Promotions on how they've delt with Gervonta Davis, having him sit on his hands, and every other fighter that they "advise and/or promote".
Crawford walked away from negotiations to get a bare knuckle debut.

At the time, he said he didn't want to sign with Al Haymon.

The fight is only happening now because Crawford signed a 2-fight deal with Al Haymon.

Which means he COULD have done it right after leaving Arum.

Which is how Canelo, Manny and Mikey got their checks.

      So

Not even close, belts don’t make a fight big. Cotto-Margarito had more hype and lived up to the hype.

Mayweather-Pacquiao was way bigger even though some fans want to talk sh/t about it being past due, it still sold millions of PPVs.

        Even Mayweather-Hatton was bigger.

Idk what Crawford is smoking, I guess he’s entitled to his own opinion. Belts don’t make the fight big.
        Mayweather-Hatton?!? Cotto-Margarito?!?!?

Mayweather/Hatton was huge only because of Hatton's fans who turned out BIG. Neither Crawford or Spence has anywhere near the fanbase.

And at least with the rematch, Cotto/Margarito was huge because of the plaster controversy and Cotto taking a knee in the first fight. They built that up perfectly.

This will be an interesting fight. Crawford will fight mostly in the conventional stand where he's more aggressive and powerful due to Spence's southpaw stands. Someone is getting stopped. This fight is not going the distance. Real 50/50 fight. May the best man wins.

              Yes and yes.

Both were bigger, more hyped than this (immediately after its confirmation), fans were way more into it.

While Cotto-Margarito only did 500k buys, neither was a big PPV star, just two fighters with latino fanbases.

Mayweather-Hatton was obviously a huge fight. 900k in the US, 2 million in the UK. It was huge, very hyped up, the forum was absolutely alive during that time, lots of new members out of nowhere.

Like I said, titles don’t make a fight “big”. And for Crawford to disregard fights like DLH-Trinidad and Chavez-Whitaker, DLH-Mosley, Mayweather-Pacquiao, he must be really high off himself for no reason.

What's with all the negativity for this fight? Sure, it should have happened sooner but that's boxing. I'm looking forward to it. For once, a match most of the boxing public want to see. And it's finally made. So grab the popcorn, beer, whatever you like and tune in. Visit a friend and pool your money for the PPV -- something I've done many times in the past. Make a fight night of it. Order a couple pizza's and enjoy your company.

Yes, that's a fight that really lost its luster for me due to the timing of it. And, a fight that Mayweather could have made earlier but didn't. It certainly wasn't Pac-Man in his prime.

It is a very good fight, but just that.

And for the record, Maywethaer - Pacquiao was a huge fight only when talking about public attention. The fight was boring and nothing special.

Margarito - Cotto 1 was a very good welterweight fight. I doubt this one will be better.
