  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Offers Promotional Advice to Haney, Suggests Sticking to Two-Fight Deals

Eddie Hearn thinks it would behoove Haney to hold onto his autonomy as much as possible. The Matchroom head recently expounded on Haney's nascent free agent status in the wake of his successful title defense of his four 135-pound belts last weekend at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Eduardo is making some sense here. Stevenson is very dangerous and will beat Haney, but the biggest fight right now for Haney is Tank Davis.

Haney doesn’t need to listen to this.

He can take the Tank fight with all the stips hed have to agree to.

Or, he can be patient and move up to 140 and go after the guys like Regis that no one wants to fight.

Less money in that but you can get yourself bigger fights that way.

Guys are so shortsighted these days, they don’t seem to want to invest in themselves for a bigger future. Everyone thinks they deserve the big money fights right away.

Romero would be a guaranteed win for Haney, but who would want that garbage fight? Romero couldn't even trade with a 40 year old guy. He ran the whole fight and the ref gave him the biggest gift of his life with an abrupt questionable stoppage. But I guess this is business. It would be no surprise if that garbage gets made in this day and age.

Yup. Haney can take the longer road here and put together a HOF resume. He looks like he will make it all the way to 147.

If he just fights 3-4 times a year against champs and mandos, he will be fine.

Imo, he should use the Usyk model.

Stevenson's right, he should rematch Loma. He won't though as its too risky - it will be interesting to see who he chooses. Probably Isaac Cruz given all this Hearn chat. Maybe Tank, but reckon he'll want to milk some more cash first.

If PBC offer him a 5 fight deal with Tank as the first fight, and the money is good, I think he'd be smart to take it. It would tie him down but also give security so not all negative.
