Beyond the punch stats, Loma looked better & landed the better & harder shots & should have won the fight.

It was a close a fight.
I had it 115-113 Haney like the judges because I thought the early work he did to the body put a lot of those early rounds in the bank.
People are more impressed by the flashy pitter pat shots to the head than hard shots to the body.
It's just like Ward/Kovalev I when people saw Kovalev's big rounds & weren't paying attention to Ward's constant workman like performance in the 2nd half of the fight.
Haney's work wasn't pretty, but in the 1st half of the fight, it was effective.Combat Talk Radio likes this.

Given how contentious the reaction has been, I hope it’s enough to schedule a rematch. At the same time, I wonder if Loma really is getting too old.

This is what's wrong with boxing and why it doesn't have the appeal it once did. Fighter are protected and judges are crooked.

this fight is very similar to canelo vs lara. lara won 7-3-2 arounds compubox with canelo majority bodywork. haney/loma 5-5-2 compubox with haney landing majority of bodywork. btw % waise haney won 8 rounds. that being said, how canelo defeated beating lara but a defending undisputed loss? remember fmw jr made a career off of compubox it was gospel. you have to clearly take the belts from the champion.Last edited by hhh1200; 05-21-2023, 07:36 PM.

Just re watched the fight it’s no robbery . Should have been a draw , good fight but neither man had a really big moment. Maybe when Loma got a right hook in 9 or ten and Haney took an awkward step but that’s it .
I would like to see it again.

So, basically the stats — and stats don’t lie — prove that Lomachenko won the fight, but was robbed by the judges because “reasons”… got it.
