I dont get the hate for Ortiz, honestly.

I mean, the guy fought his heart out for 6 rounds and came very close to ending the fight in the first two rounds. and its not like hes Amir Khan, who just skipped over a Prescott rematch. he wants to avenge his loss.

I really dont get whats the problem.

I don't respect Ortiz, because he is getting back on HBO when fighters suffer losses that are a lot less devastating than he did, and end up on ESPN when they try to rebound. The kid is being given preferential treatment, and it is unfair. At least Angulo had to take his next fight on ESPN after he lost that fight to Cintron in competitive fashion. We've got Golden Boy to thank for this. They give us better fights than Top Rank, but they have their faults as well.

I'm willing to give this dude the benefit of the doubt but I agree that he needs to acknowledge what happened that night and what he said. That was a sad sight to see and I already knew he wasn't goin to get no love from the fight fans. Watching that fight I have to say ortiz is the better fighter but just wasn't used to taking that kind of punishment and couldn't fight through it which to me speaks to this guys ability to be great. Those are the fights you have to get through every top fighter has gone through fights where they took some punishment and needed to fight through it; Pac(in a lot of his fights) cotto( against clottey, zab, corley...), even mayweather against corley was hurt and had a bloody nose but fought through it. But its always a bit easier to get up the second time you fall... I know from experience.

dude **** this kid and you i was in the marine corps boxing team and one thing our trainer said dont ever quit, if the doc dont stop it or my trainer dont throw the towel in during the fight you dont quit period. the way ortiz quit was plain disgusting and the bull **** that came out of his mouth is unforgiveable. so yes **** this chump he needs to find another profession cause boxing aint it.
